Is the difference between the 1in. and 1.25in. wheels just for looks? Or does it matter what tire your running? Say a 2.2 xor pitbull tire or a rc4wd 2.2 bogger (wide/ skinny tire) The reason I ask is because Im looking at ordering some 2.2 mayhem monsters asap 8)

It depends on the tire. Wider tires work better on wider wheels, though some work on either.

I've got PB's on a 1" wheel and I feel they are better suited on something a bit wider...others would agree.

I had some Rok Lox on 1.25" wheels, though the seemed to work and look a bit better on 1" wheels.

Rovers work pretty damn good on either.

The best way to do it is to search around and see what wheels others are using for the tire you are interested in.

what i've found is it's a little easier to mount tires on a wider rim. unless you want boss claws, then they won't mount on any rim!! 3 hours of trying and i'm fitna throw them in the trash.

i ran the ssz-11's which are .8 inches wide. i just switched to dhII's and slw v1's both are 1 inch wide. can't really tell a difference. tho i've only had about 3 minutes of run time and broke the front tranny output. hello robinson racing.....

Here my theory, but everyone is a little different. 1 1/4 on your pin tires such as HB khaos, HB blocks, or boss claws. The pins seem to need a wider flatter surface to get the best performance from them. Now tires such as rovers, sedonas, pitbulls, ect. perform better with a more round and narrow track with a wheel at .7 to an inch. Keep in mind also that foams will greatly effect what you trying to achieve as well. Hope this helps some!"thumbsup"
