Where can i find the two speed set up in stock? out of stock everywhere i look.
The bomber shares the same trans as the yeti. Is it the same gearing?

Thank you for the info!!!"thumbsup"

I asked the wife for the Axial 2 speed kit for Christmas because my LHS had it in stock for the same $95 as online. I preferred the Axial kit because of the lower 1.08 ratio top gear option. At the time the kit was purchased I only had the Yeti, and on 3s it doesn't need to be any faster for me. Thinking about it I could change a $5 pinion and still run the faster high gear and slow down the Yeti. With the Bomber (should be here Wednesday) I might want the faster hi gear to get the bomber up to speed while keeping a smaller pinion to crawl better. If I were to order a second kit I would get the SSD and save the $30 difference.

Is anything else needed to run the ssd kit, besides the extra servo?

I should be able get the package in the mail and be running in 2 speeds in 1 hour or so right? I assume you use the extra trans part that came with the spare parts with the kit? Or do I need to order anything else while I'm at it?

Thanks!

Please excuse my ignorance, but SSD 2 speed under the yeti or wraith? I'm not finding it under the bomber parts.

The bomber uses a yeti transmission. I haven't installed the Axial 2 speed kit in my bomber yet, but Axial shows the sae part number on their site and others have said it works.

I am running the SSD 2 speed trans and really like it. You will probably spend more than an hour getting it in and set up, but it is actually pretty easy to do.

One caveat though, there is a little black aluminum block that goes onto the shift rod so that you can hook your linkage onto it to shift. This aluminum block simply screws onto the shift rod, I found out the hard way that unless you tighten a lock nut up next to that aluminum block that the shift rod will slowly rotate over time (it is free to spin) and either unscrew, or screw in moving the little aluminum block along the shift linkage away from where you had it originally set up. This messes up your throws when moving the rod as it will now go too far one way and not far enough the other. I had a grinding noise the other day when I shifted into high, when I pulled the body off I could tell that the linkage was not moving far enough to fully engage the dog gears in the transmission. The reason why it was not engaging was because it had unscrewed itself about 1/4" which made it go too far into low and was not fully moving into high, the servo saver I had put on saved the servo when it was trying to over engage in low.

This is a very, very minor detail and very easy to prevent from happening so not a big deal at all. I really do like the SSD 2 speed kit a lot.
