I think their goal is to replace AA, AAA and similar batteries with better alternatives.

It doesn't seem like its going to ever compete with the Lithium based options.

I guess I'll go back to waiting on Graphene components again.
 
Well, look at the bigger picture maybe. All the failures we spent our money on shows us what not to do next time.

Technology is expensive and not everyone is successful in developing it. But yeah, failures are just as important as positive outcomes.


They also never go poop in Star Trek. Maybe they have some kind of anally inserted power generator that runs on turds and conducts power through the users skin to the device being used.
 
It's better though when the ideas are scrapped because of limitations or efficiency rather than political reasons.

For solyndra specifically, apparently a few engineers there from the infancy of their technology got screwed and their baby stolen. And of course the tax payers lost on it too.

As Mr. Spock said as he was standing in the exploding volcano preparing to die as he was telling Captain Kirk to get the Enterprise ship the hell out of dodge, a small sacrifice for the greater good!
