Going to buy a couple of these bombers today. One for me and one for my son for Christmas. I got a $140 off coupon code for Tower. Should I get 2S or 3S batteries?

It was a hard decision over building an SCX10, but the guy at the hobby shop was praising these things and it is cheaper than building a kit for now...

Im on the 3s boat. Better runtime, more power, more wheelspeed. May want to gear down to a 10t pinion for the kid to slow things down but i liked how it ran out of the box with 3s.

You might want to consider getting both. I'll put a 2s in the one I got my kids to get them started. Once they master that and can handle more speed I can just pop in a 3s.

I vote 3s or at least one of each like Mike said. Wise choice to start with LIPO. "thumbsup"

I've been running my venom 5000 2s batteries with no issue, but it could be faster. So I went out and bought a turnigy 500 3s batt, now it is acting stupidly strange, it will only run for about 2 feet before turning off. I don't know what the issue is, I was under the impression the esc didn't care if it was 2c or 3c just as long as the esc tab was in the lipo slot?

a 500mah 3s? that will not last long at all...its probably hitting the low voltage cutoff for the lipo...I would use at least a 2600mah or better...I run a 4000mah in my bomber with a roc 412 3100kv motor...

I am running 5200mah 3S 50C and glad I did not get 2S. I see no reason for 2S now. It can move super slow or pull the right front tire and last forever. We played for 2 evenings around the house on 1 charge.

I'm running a cheapo 3s 4000mah 30c in my bomber with a 10t or 12t pinion / stock spur. All of that is pared to a Holmers Puller Pro 2200kv. It won't replace my Holmes Crawlmaster setup but it is respectably smooth. With this setup, it jumps, crawls, and it snaps cheapo knock off CVDs like pretzels sticks.

As the crew I run with says, "gear down and volt up"! I'm now running 3s and lower gears in everything I run.

This guy gets a cookie! 3s unless it's kids learning.

Oops, typo. It's a 5000mah 3s. I got it all working now, and I will say running a 3s is the way to go!

My venom 5000mah 2s lipo fits nicely. I had to modify the case a little bit on my turnigy 5000mah 3s lipo, and it fits snug.

I'm looking to get a pair of 3S Lipos with more than 5000 mAh. I saw a couple that are about that size. Are you guys using hardcases or no? I don't want to buy two batteries and find out they won't fit.

I'd appreciate if some folks who are running 3s could post the specific brand/model battery they're running.
I'm coming from SCX10s running 2s. I'd like to get a couple of 3s batteries at the same time I order my Bomber and don't want to get the wrong thing.

I think this is the 5th thread about what battery fits in a Bomber.

I was thinking the same thing. For what it's worth I went back 4 pages, didn't see anything, and figured this was the most relevant thread since it was on the first page.

i am running a Onyx 3S 5000mah soft case in my Bomber and a Onyx 2S 5000mAh hard case in my 9yr old son's.
We get roughly 1-1.5hrs of play time (bashing/crawling/hill climbing)

They both fit just fine. I had to adjust the tray for the 3S.

I ran my Bomber pretty hard on the stock motor and it never got hotter than "barely warm" on a 3s lipo. That said, my vote is actually 4s...on a HH Puller 2200kv and a MMP... ;)
