idk what the problem is here but im on my 3rd ring and pinion gear in the front diff. still using the stock gearing 38/13. i know that the 43/13 is a better mesh but im using what i have up.
ive been shimming so that the mesh doesnt bind or have access slop. now today when i put the new gear in i shimmed it tight so that maybe they would break into one another and last.

im running 3s and maybe thats my problem.or maybe cause iam still running plastic front bulkhead/diff housing?

im not having bearing failures there but i was wondering if the plastic is flexing some how.

I'm running the D lux bulkhead also with the 38/13 hd gears and the axial locker always on 3s with no problems at all gears still look great

Mines been on the shelf because of this. 3rd gear set with dlux bulkhead and shimming and after 2 packs or so I'll have to add a shim, by the 6th pack it's usally toast. Rear end is still like new.

Interesting. I'm running the stock bulkhead with stock gears and *knock on wood* have yet to destroy the front R&P. Toasted my rear a couple months ago, even inside the Dlux modded housing, but no worries there. Gave me a reason to upgrade to the HD gearset. Still running 38/13 and so far no issues. But we'll see.

I'm running all stock with 3S and I have noticed some wear on the front and rear gears. I'm thinking of upgrading to HD gears too and maybe going with 36/14 for more speed :)

I noticed on mine the front outputs have a decent amount of slop in them. Could this be letting the ring gear move just enough to slip?

I'm having some binding in the drivetrain, maybe is in the front diff.
I'll check if have this slop you guys said.
btw, how do you guys adjust de mesh/shim it?

I went threw 2 sets of stockers before swaping to underdrive (43/13) front and rear. havent had a problem since.
there is a nice right up Dlux did on testing and showing why the 43/13 are the best bullet proof option. used calipers etc to show how they had the best fit.

Stock and hd 38/13 both toasted, so now I got 43/13 for this exact reason. Didn't want to UD both but figured go up 1 tooth pinion and be the same as 38/13 gears. But this is on my spawn.
