40 things you didn't know

1) Mosquito repellents don't repel. They hide you. The spray blocks the

By the way, the sinking library is false. I don't remember what I saw it on, but its not true. There is no college library on the face of the planet that is sinking.

The rest are pretty intersting.

myth busters blew that one out of the water. they did their test with the toothburshes at various distances away from the toillet and all had the same amount of bacteria on them, from the one on the back of the tiolet to the one 1o feet away.

Yep, they also tested the "A duck's quack doesn't echo," myth, and busted it."thumbsup"

I like strange facts, but some of these are not entirely correct.

4) No piece of paper can be folded in half more than 7 times.
A full sheet of newspaper can.

15) A duck's quack doesn't echo and no one knows why.
That's just silly. You just don't hear it because ducks don't generally live where echos can be created.

16) Turtles can breathe through their ears.
Turles can absorb oxygen through thier skin like a frog, so in that instance this could be considered somewhat true. But turtles don't have en external ear opening, so it's not like they can draw in air as they do through thier nostrils.

32) A dragonfly has a life span of 24 hours.
Not necessarily. I suppose if they get eaten right away. But most dragonflys live for 1-3 years as a larva underwater, and sometimes as long as 6-7 months after maturing into an adult in warm climates.

34) The longest earthworm in the world was reported to exceed 150 ft.
in length.

I doubt it. Although African species can reach up to 22ft.
