I run 6 cell 1500 NiMH split packs. Will I feel a chance if i got a 8 cell 1500 NiMH pack?

I know the weight, but what about performans?

Your run time should increase a little bit but your wheel speed should increase significantly. You should also bog down the motor less because of the extra voltage which inturn uses less battery.

One thing I will mention is you need a charger capable of charging 8 cells. 8cell split pack are $20 and thats cheap for the benefits you get but if you need a good charger as well, you looking closer to $100.

also, SOME escs wont handle the 8 cell packs. you ll have to check to see if your esc can handle the extra volts and amps the 8cell will deliver.

some escs are limited to 6 or 7 cell packs.

my charger and esc can handle 8 cells, but i dont understand "bog down the motor"
im running a Novak 55T

Motor doesn't matter.

What ESC do you have? You might also need to run an external BEC, because increasing battery volts actually robs amperage from the servo's needed BEC power.

There are LOTS of examples, they are BEC's Battery Eliminator Circuits
They eliminate the need for a reciever pack in an electric model by providing a separate regulated supply voltage using the cars main battery pack.
