Hey Everyone, I did a search but didn't come up with my answer. I'm about to attempt my first cut and shut job and am ordering the glue. How many tires will a 1 oz. bottle of CA glue together? I'm just curious if I need to order more than one bottle. I'm working on building a tall/narrowed set of HB Rovers (because I have some extras...).

Also, I see a lot of reference to the IC-2000 glue as well as using some other products to get the tire tacked together first. Any input to a good quick glue to get started would also be helpful.

Thanks,

Dustin

I cut n shut my 2.2 sedonas and i started with a 2oz bottle of ZAP medium ca glue and used under a half a bottle. Been goin for over a year now

Thanks for the reply! I didn't want to run out but at $10 an ounce for that IC-2000 stuff I don't want to over buy either...

Been using it on all my cut and shuts.

If I may add...

Wear a respirator or at the very least keep your face to the side (not over the work) during the procedure. The fumes wreak havoc on the nasal membranes and can give a two day long runny nose and burnt hair smell.

If you can smell the glue a lot you are probably too close.

If you smell glue a lot than you are probably using too much glue which will than make your gluing harder cause it'll take longer to dry... I can usually do about 15 sets of tires with 1 bottle of glue... You won't need more than 1 bottle for sure

Thanks for the lead, it's nice to know that I don't need the crazy stuff!

Thank you! Good advise.

I wish I had seen your sales thread before I ordered a bunch of tires. I hope mine come out half as nice as yours. I need to get on your wait list for a set of narrowed voodoos.
