After seeing the new axial ripsaw tires, I quickly decided I wanted to build a new rig around them.
First I was just going to mod my honcho to fit them, but quickly decided i like my fenders too much for that.

Then I decided I would just build a tube buggy.
At first I planned to build my own frame, but life is waaaay to busy for me to spend a bunch of time brazing in my shed.

So I settled on using the TCS eclipse chassis as a base.

If this is not scale enough, please feel free to move this thread to the correct section. "thumbsup"

I am going to attempt to make this rig as scale as possible!
This could be a bit of a task, but I'm up to it!

Build will consist of
Eclipse chassis
Axial axles
Axial beadlocks
Mthead bl rings
Axial trans
V11 35t motor(geared really high)
3s lipo
Axial ripsaw tires
Some scale accessories
Axial scx10 aluminum shocks

This build will be fairly low buck and nowhere nearly as cool as some of the builds I've seen on this forum lately.
But i am personally excited about this for some reason, so I wanted to share it with my fellow enthusiasts!

So far I've got a basic roller on my hands.

The bl rings I'm gonna start with until I buy some wheels

I would love to hear any suggestions you guys may have to help me make this look as scale as possible.
I'm just trying To make this rig look like the type of buggy you would see in alot of 1:1 competitions.

Off to a great start. The ride height looks good sprung with those tires. Good luck with it.

I was going to try an interior, but this trans takes up way to much room.
I may try a different trans once it's up and running.
I was thinking about an r2 or maybe even a lnc trans.

Once I have it wired up and get the wheelbase and ride height in check I'll make the decision on the possible trans change and interior.

My vision was to have a team 3 six seat in there with a partial dash.

Thanks for the compliments guys!

And a big thanks to theSCorpionKing for hooking me up on this rig in the first place!"thumbsup"

Your welcome, but I should thank you for taking it off my hands. I think an r2 would work great. You could go 2 speed that way (if it all fits) but I think the big bonus is it's flat top, low profile. With it, you should be able to get maybe the driver's seat of a CGR body over it.

I finally got this rig running on Sunday.

The electronics I am using are

Sidewinder micro
Castle bec integy v11 35t
Hitec 7954
Spectrum micro rx
CBP elite 1300mah 3a lipo
Trans gearing is 87 spur 20 pinion

This thing tears it up!
It's faster than I thought it would be!
It will pull wheelies on pavement(not huge flipping over wheelies though)
But still has a slow crawling ability!

Here she is on her maiden voyage on Sunday

While soldering up the rig Sunday morning I had a sign from the gods sitting right in front of me!! :ror:

My original paint theme quickly went away and a new one was dreamed up!

I quickly jumped into action and made this a reality!

The inspiration!!

Damn Marc, That thing is looking KILLER. Those MTHEAD rings looks sweet and I'm absolutely digging that panel to cover up the guts. Great work in no time flat. 35t on 3s is a hoot. I was runnign that combo in most of my rigs prior to selling most of them.

Also, is that all paint or some decal work?

I've only crawled it just a little bit, but they seem to work Pretty good so far.

My buddy didn't have time to get my panels done for this weekends comp.
So I just sprayed the panels all black and just had some decals made for it.
I'm happy with bow it turned out.
I may change the roof panel to orange just to break it up a little though.

Unfortunately cheapbatterypacks.com is out of the packs I need
For the next 2 weeks, so I'm stuck using a 2 cell in this rig until then.
My 3s packs are for my comp rig which will be heavily used this weekend.
