a Traxxas rock crawler

Then you got the kit and not the ready to run, kits atleast at that time were still cast and boxed stateside.

Yeah, mine is a kit. XXX-T MF2. It is getting a new heart in about 5 days... on the way via UPS to me now... Mamba Max 6900 brushless system. A new back too, EA3 chassis (The graphite one snapped in half... dont ask... so I thought I would see how durable their EA3 composite it.)

who cares where their made, I think that if traxxas were to produce a crawler, that it would preform very well indeed. as far as being unique and costume, look at the ax10, it has only been out for like 6 months and now you really cannot find a stock one on this forum. just because everyone gets the same kit, dosent mean that they stay that way. Big deal.

Traxxas crawler would be AWESOME, hands down.

Parts I have used from traxxas on a crawler....

Links, lots and lots of traxxas links
Ball ends, revo and pede
Big bore shocks
Pede rims
Pede tranny
Pede drive shafys and steel yokes
Revo drive shafts
Ruslter body

So they already make a lot of the parts that are needed.... All they need to do is create a axle, and basic chassis setup. They could pull it off if they wanted. Heck I could see it coming packed in with a TQ3 and novak goat type brushless system. They have worked with Novak in the past.

Hell, look at all the traxxas parts we already use. Rod ends, drive shafts, pushrods, trannies, shocks. They could use their diffs and axles and the rest of the parts we use, add a chassis and solid axle housing and their good to go. They wouldn't have to add very many part numbers to come up with a crawler.

Exactly"thumbsup"

They could easily put together a 2.2 or a Super with what they offer on other vehicles and only have to make a handful of crawler specific parts. I could even see the 4-Tec knuckles being used on the 2.2 trucks as solid axle steerable knuckles.
