Looking at upgrading from the Traxxas ID to XT60 connectors. Going to sell Traxxas batteries and charger, so need recommendations on batteries/chargers that are easy to use and not crazy on ye ol wallet. :lmao: I have a TRX4 and don't care about weight, but care about run time since we go on long hikes. I like what I get out of my 2S 25C 7600mah if that helps at all. Anybody running the EcoPower batteries, how do you like them? I honestly don't know what to look for, so any and all advice is better than none"thumbsup"

TIA.

Chargers. are any of these good?

I run 2700mAh 3s 60c zippy compact lipos from hk in my TRex, runtime 1.5 up to 3hr depending on surface and driving style. https://hobbyking.com/en_us/zippy-c...346&indexName=hbk_live_magento_en_us_products

As charger i use a skyrc d100v2 and i'm very happy with it. I think it's sold also under hitec brand (think it's x2 not sure). https://www.skyrc.com/D100_v2_Charger

Make sure that the charger has a balance charge and storage mode. The D100 can also measure the internal resistance of your lipo, so you can monitor the health of it.

Thank ya sir! Added to my list of options. I completley forgot about storage charge, good thing you said something!

Over here guys run Gensace or XPower lipos because of availability. I run XPower. Don’t know who makes them but they last and balances perfectly every time on my cheap HTRC B6v2 charger. I run 3400 and 5400 2s’.

See whats available locally and check how guys feel about them.

Look for this in a charger:
Balance charge.
Storage charge.
Voltage/balance checker.
Internal Resistance / IR checker.

Any half decent lipo charger will do the above.

I use Goldbat brand batteries (not the cheapest on Amazon but not the most expensive, when I first got into this I picked a middle of the road battery with a fair amount of 5 star reviews), they have done what I expected them to do so far, and an Imax B6 charger. Pro: it is a budget charger with all of the features. Con: charges one battery at a time so if I want to take both rigs out I have to plan accordingly. I usually do my heavy wheeling on Saturdays so I just top them off on Fridays and its never been a big deal, just an extra trip to the garage.

I also use Goldbat batteries in my crawlers. I've had no problems. The cells stay balanced.

Aloha Scale! I have a Traxxas EZ-Peak Dual Charger and even though I only have a couple Traxxas batteries I still use ( for my Maxx 4s ) all I use is XT-60 plugs on all my ESC’s / Batteries / BEC’s, I found it is the easiest and least complicated charger I have owned! Using the Bluetooth and App I can dial in any setting I need and have not had a problem Balancing cells and Storage or full charge issues All I did was make a high grade adapter Trx to Xt-60 or you can get one on amazon for $10! Something that bothered me about a lot of chargers was ease of use and price point so I Have stuck with the Ez-peak charger, the dual is $150 the single is $99. Mahalos & BUZZZ.....

That protek you listed should get the job done well. I’m using a similarly spec’d charger I got off Amazon for about $40. It also charges lihv up to 6s.

For batteries lately I’ve been running Turnigy graphene lihv packs. They’ve been great for me but I’ve heard of others that have had issues, for the price it’s worth trying them imo. I like the size, capacity, and weight of these a lot.

I had a good few hobbyking zippy packs but those all eventually puffed, guessing because of the lower c ratings I picked for those. Heard good things about goldbatt from several people. The protek lihv batteries seem to be hit or miss as well, at a more expensive price tag. While I do have one that I run in a trx6, after having another one with a dead cell I wouldn’t personally recommend those.

Thank you everyone for the responses.

Topher- Good to hear that Protek will work. Only con about it is it's only a single port. I really like the charger Magic yeti posted.

Kingmeow- That's the plan lol.

MAX-D and Phil- Ill check out the Goldbat batteries. I'm not too sure Amazon will ship Lipos here, but I will look into it.

Hugo- I was looking at the GensAce batteries last night, so they definitely are available over here.

I am going to call a few hobby shops on Ohau and see if I can order batteries and a charger to get shipped over here. I'm going to get his recommendation and go from there. "thumbsup"
