Trying to find a bang for buck servo and came across the Airtronics 94162Z servo:

Length: 1.54" (39.1mm)
Width: .79" (20mm)
Height: 1.61" (40mm)
Torque @ 4.8V: 123 oz-in
Torque @ 6V: 154 oz-in
Speed @ 4.8V: .18 seconds/60°
Speed @ 6V: .015 seconds/60°
Motor: Standard 3 pole
Weight: 2.36oz (70 grams)
Length of lead wire including connector: 11.5" (290mm)

Seems like it has a bit more torque than the Hitec 645MG which I just nuked. I do not compete so I am not throwing $100+ into a servo so I just am goign to accept I will not be getting a 200+ oz torque one.

I bought a TowerPro 995 and am very disapointed by it, seems like a ebay knock off as it glitches gets stuck etc, like it has a dead spot.

Anyone every try this Servo on a 2.2? It is cheaper landed to me then the 645. "thumbsup"

In all seriousness, you already wasted 40 dollars. Get hitec warrentied. Then save up for a hobbico cs-170. 333oz and its like 89 bucks @ tower. Even if you dont comp its still worth buying good equipment that lasts. When you use a subpar electronic device that has as much strain put on it as we do to these things, you will have alot of failures. Just the way it works, MOYMMV.

I ran the airtronics 94162 in my scx-10 it did not last very long. Maybe 6months. The servo had great power for running 1.9's and I did put it through its paces. What started happing with it is the brushess would drag when turning one way and run smooth running the other way. (I removed motor from servo and turned the pot to test motor) When turning to the weak side the motor would get hot and over load the axial stock esc. not too sure if I will get another one or something different.

airtronics up-date my servo is still going strong. I was underpowering the servo with the stock axial ver 1 esc. I picked up a novak goat 3s. powered up the servo while taken apart with servo motor out of the case. I ran the servo back and forth about 2 min each way. What do ya know it started running fast both ways! My best guess to the problem is that with the servo underpowered one of the brushes got a bit burnt. Then with the 6v 5a bec in the goat the servo had a good clean power supply to clean up the brushes. This is only a guess as to what was wrong. However it is still working fine after about 10hrs on it since it started working right again.
