Buddy of mine posted this, and I though it was good.

During practice at the Petit LeMans last weekend, Scott Sharp ran into a GT2 Porsche, launching his Highcroft Patron Acura into the wall and catch fence, completely destroying the car. Video of the wreck:

After the wreck, the team had to build an entirely brand new prototype right there in their paddock, piece by piece. It took:
4,000 mechanical parts
250 electrical parts
100 engine parts
350 gearbox parts
450 pieces of custom harware
Re-used only 10% of the parts from the car that crashed!
Took 30 straight hours to finish!

But the best part is, they had a camera set up in the corner of the paddock taking a pic of their progress at a regular interval. Here is the time lapse video of their build, and it's ****ing sweet:

They showed that during the race (had to fill up the rain delay somehow).

Wonder what it cost to overnight that tub from CA to Atlanta?

Likely it was already there.

If they were smart anyways.

Yeah, that wreck was pretty knarly. It constantly amazes me when these guys can take a hit like that and walk away. The engineering in those chassis and the way that they absorb and dissipate energy and not hurt the driver is flat out awsome.

Cool post"thumbsup"

That's wild to see all those guys working on building that car. Sooo many precision parts.

Likely it was already there.

It wasn't as there were only two cars built so far (both running that race). That 3rd tub was the only other one available anywhere.

Pretty amazing they got the tub there and everything else put on the car in that short amount of time. Glad someone at SPEED decided a camera in their pits would be a good idea. Very cool to watch, although it would have been funny to see them finish and have "that look" when they end up with a few "extra" parts...

And thats why they get paid the big bucks.

Thatd be so cool to go 30hrs straight with a team building a car from scratch...then afterwards Im sure everybody gets slammed.

"Dude if you wreck it again you're on your own..."
