Are there any alternatives to Paypal? I've been having so many issues with them holding my money and not releasing it on time. They make it so difficult to get your money it's ridiculous! I understand it's all about protecting the buyer but the seller needs to be able to have access to the money, especially after they started this pending hold crap. If they are going to hold my money, they better effing release it on flipping time then!

i have newver had my money held with PP buying or selling....only time i hear of issue's is when a claim has been opened then money is held........bob

....

Ebay has been putting a hold on my money the last 5 or 6 things I sold there. 100% feedback, and they hold my money for 2 weeks at least. Add the 10% they take, plus paypals cut and selling on ebay is not really worth it anymore.

I started using my ebay account again a few months ago after about a year of inactivity. I had 1 negative feedback over 5 years ago, everything since was positive. I sold a few items recently and Paypal now puts a hold on every payment I get, they said that due to the inactivity they were putting holds on my payments as a precaution and protection for the buyer. It would be held for 10 days or 3 days after delivery confirmation via tracking number. I entered the tracking number in Paypal like they told me to and 4 days elapsed and it still wasn't released on time, for the second time. They said the holds won't change. I get charged to list an item on ebay, I get charged a percentage of the selling total, I get charged by Paypal for receiving a payment....it's getting stupid.

One other reason they hold money is if the buyer has the money transfered from there bank to make a paypal purchase. I think it's called a E-check.
Only other way is credit card.

Even if they have to have the money transferred from their account, it's still transferred through Paypal to the seller immediately. I've paid that way before and they got the money right away.

Greed...oh wait I mean agreed LOL.

Yup new-rules. Read them. A lot of people are raising-hell about it. If you don't ship or post tracking within your "Handling-time" they hold your funds. They (E-Bay) are even suggestting you lower your Handling-Time to one day..........Something to do with the ratings. I'm about done with them.
Another related subject, which really pisses me off is opening a case on a non-payer. They don't do shit to them really. They used to kick the NP off. Now they have some kinda strike-system and really let the dirt-bags slide. I pay for my stuff, even if I really did'nt want it....

if you aren't uploading tracking numbers for all of your sales they will place a hold on the funds now.

The first time I didn't upload the tracking number, and they held the payment. I called them and asked why and they told me everything. You have to upload the tracking number into eBay AND into Paypal. So this next time I was sure to upload it into both. On the third day after delivery has been confirmed they are supposed to release the funds. Well I was almost on day 5 and still didn't have the money! Bull crap if you ask me! If they are going to hold the funds, they better DAMN WELL release them on time and not make me call their asses every time!

I have not heard about the handling time thing. Is that the "I'll ship it within 2-3 days after payment" thing? I always put 2-3 because one I have a life outside eBay and a computer, and two, I never know with work. I could be called in, have to stay late, stay overnight, get sent out of town, so I have to cover myself. Paypal did say something about my ratings, but I have all positive feedback, so what are ratings???

I have a paypal credit/debit card, and my funds are always instantly available. Hm...

Watch that card like a hawk! I had an unauthorized transaction go through on mine to some pizza place locally i have never even been to for $140 and they refused to reverse it. I have been done with them and ebay ever since. Perfect ratings for years on both and they still wouldnt even look at reversing the charges they are full of it.

Wepay.com is a great alternative to PayPal. Fast to get started accepting payments online. You can send invoices, sell tickets to events, accept donations, and create an online store.

My first experiences with paypal haven't been very pleasant. Tried to load a money pack, but because we get our mail in a p.o. box, my address couldn't be veryfied. So it didn't load. Now i linked my bank account. Paypal is holding the funds i'm trying to send to someone. 2 to 3 business days. This seems pretty unfair to the seller. He will ship as soon as the funds are released from my account.
