Does anybody know were I may be able to purchase a aluminum spur gear? I know that HR has one but I was looking for something with a little more teeth rather than 87t. Thanks in advance, Mike

Are you sure you want to run one? IMO you need a week link in your system, if its not the spur its going to be somewhere else, something will eventually give, why not the spur, plus if your mesh is set right and you have a slipper it should not be a problem, just my opinion."thumbsup"
I already have a slipper on order. After reading the "carnage report" I seen that a couple people running a 7T on 11.1v kinda made the spur fragile. I guess I should have mentioned that to begin with what I will be running. I am not really looking to go that fast just want the torque. Thanks again

If you are running a slipper than an Aluminum spur is almost pointless. I guess if you are worried about that inital surge stripping a tooth before the trans could catch up but I still don't see the need.
Just google "metal spur 90t" or "AL spur 90t" I got a few results.
I just hate to go out on my first test run and see something fail. It takes a while for stuff to get over here. But if you think I will be fine then I will get stay with the plastic spurs. Thanks for everybodies input.

I can see your concern. I guess the best thing to do is just be smart with the throttle when you have that much power on tap. I am still guessing your slipper is going to get a workout, might want to order a couple spare sets of pads, I bet they glaze over pretty quick.
Now where is the fun in that? With a 7t on 3 cell everything becomes a launch ramp. In my experience with the slipper and a 7t it can slip when bound up. If you are competing it could be a prob. If you are just bashing then be smart and pick your rig up out of that kind of thing. I've never seen it slip just under power (i.e. not bound up) if adjusted fairly tight. I run the stock gear and a 18t pinion. You don't really need a lot of gearing with the 7t. It will never not start for you. Lots of torque.
Aluminum or metal spur gears are also noisy and annoying in a crawler IMO... Necessary evil sometimes but with a slipper it isn't needed.
