Anti-Squat ?

okay anti squat is the degree measure of angle of lets say the rear arms. lets go with 1 degree that means the front of the arms are lifted one degree thats anti squat and that will not do jack shit for crawlers i dont think becuase its more of a tuning option for racing in the racing world the more anti squat the more rear bite but you start to lose steering antis squat can also make you jump better much smoother
 
there are a few different factors involved with anti squat than just link angle, you also have to factor in your vertical separation of the link mounting points at the frame and at the axle.
 
I'll state first off that I don't know a whole lot about link setup's.I know on 1:1 crawlers anti-squat is something guys argue till the end of time,which is better,more or less anti-squat. Link configuration effects this in many many ways,from what I gather anyway. Links mounting locations,link lengths, link angles and where they converge. A great deal of anti-squat will actually raise the rear of the chassis/body under acceloration. This will provide alot more traction. The links are actually pushing down on the tires and the body raises from the force and is pivoting at the point where the links mount to the chassis. Imagine though going down a 75 degree slope and having to "gas it" to get past a hole. This would lead to the chassis/body going to near or past being at 90 degrees or straight up and down. Chances are this would result in a violent end over end role down the hill. That very same set up that could lead to the end over end role down the hill would work to your benifit if you were going up the very same hill. I'm not going to type out the senerio for a low amount of anti-squat. It would be the complete opposite as I just stated. If you can follow what I'm trying to say,I think you can understand.

I,personally feel it's best to find a neutral zone where the rear stays farely level while giving it the gas. This would allow decent traction and not allowing the chassis to raise or lower during acceloration.

Like I said,I don't feel that I know a whole lot about link set ups. I am reading about them and trying to learn more about how it works though. Would it have the same effect in RC's as it does in 1:1 scale? I can't help but think "Hell yeah" I mean if it's the same geometry,just scaled down,it should have the same results,right?

I'm sure theres more people here that are more experienced with links though.
