Ok so I am just about to order the E-revo 1/10 with a mamba monster in it, ok this is a new truck to me. I only have one other basher the wraith but this is a huge step up from that and with experience with my slash 4x4 lcg I know I might have to do upgrades right out of the box! Anyways can anyone please give advice to what kind of upgrades to do, this will be running on 4s power from Gens ace (6s... dont even ask I am not putting that kind of pwoer into it) but the driveshafts are plastic
So planned upgrades for now:
- Put long travel rocker set (included)
- 2x Gens ace 5000 mah 2s 65c lipos
- Swithcing to deans connectors for entire truck/batteries
Ok those are the things I can think of, I really need your help guys, I heard the MMM can ketch on fire a lot but I am willing to take the risk, and the diffs. are ok so there you have it, HELP WANTED on this; Thank you for visting/ replying to this thread, - axial 4x4 crawler

I had one a couple years ago, it had a Tekin RX-8 and 1900 KV motor in it. I kept it stock except for RPM arms (replaced as they broke)

I liked going fast with mine ( not a wheelie machine) so I installed the optional center diff and it kept the front end planted, 60% of the power to front wheels and 40% to the rear, it flat out ripped.

Be careful with the long travel rockers. They ruined the handling of the truck big time IMO, I kept mine stock but then again I was going for more track type speed and handling. I wasn't concerned about giant jumps and drop off's.

It can be set up however you wish. "thumbsup"

Use the P3 suspension setup, more stable, better handling IMO. Upgrade the diff carriers and put really good bearings all around the diff. Don't go more than the 2200 motor as you don't need too, it will be plenty fast enough on 4-6cell, I highly recommend not very much 6 cell usage as you will blow the bearings in the diffs. Good luck keeping tires on it!

I've go the rpm arms on mine too. they can take tons of abuse. Long travel rockers make it really squishy even with 90wt oil and upgrades springs. I favor the P2 rockers.

Cracking car, really good fun.

I ended up getting a really good deal on a brushed version, even after buying the brushless motor it still worked out a fair bit cheaper.
Mine gets a fair bit of abuse

First thing that failed on mine was the front right A-arm

Went RPM not had a problem since

Next went for Summit bumpers as i wanted LED's plus they offer a bit more protection

Went for alloy front skid plates as it['s really rocky here and the plastic ones disintegrate in one bashing session

Next i went for a outter wears cover

You'll find out yourself, but i wouldn't bother with the long travel, just makes what is a very stable car fall over alot.

Only other problems i've had are:
The stock tyres weren't taped so they split (Cars a good laugh on 4S and a riot on 6S)
Drive shafts are a weak spot on 6S though, i've fitted Summit shafts and found them to be a little stronger.
No point going for the steel shafts with RPM arms though as they bend.
Had a few problems setting up my slipper clutch so i went for the upgraded one, that's more my error though.

Thanks guys for all of the pictures, suggestions, and other things. I am changing my servo though to a Savox 1230sg (500 oz. at 6v for 75.00). I guess I will order some RPM a-arms, and I haven't got my Gens ace yet but they should be hear soon. As some of you guys said I will not put the long arm suspension set-up just because as you said that it is not to great for the handling. Where do you find the RPM a-arms? I looked all over ebay and other websites like rcplanet.com, and so on but I guess I will need to buy from RPM's main website. I will use the stock tires till they go bad or ripped up. Oh and I said I will change to deans but I am sticking with the traxxas connectors (I will just need a adapter to fit my charger). Then I am buying traxxas steel driveshafts (4) and then the center driveshafts front/rear.... I don't want a plastic driveshaft busting and having to take it off; rather just go ahead and put the steel ones on their. I have seen people on other forums saying where to put the BEC, which side on the battery leads from the Mamba Monster do I put it on? How do I find out which side is meant for the BEC? I heard it does matter because I could kill the esc and I can't afford that. I greatly appreciate all the help,

Oh I just saw with putting steel driveshafts will bend if i put the RPM a-arms on their, that is why I will put the summit shafts on their. They may break but hey they will save me some money:) Here is the total list so for of upgrades:
- Gens ace 65c 5000 mah x2
- RPM a-arms all around
- Summit driveshafts
Will i really need the center steel driveshafts that cost 33 bucks. I guess I can get into the diff and change the bearings if they go bad or just replace with better bearings, thanks again - axial 4x4 crawler

I ran mine for a long time on the stock plastic center shafts. If you are going to stay with the 4s setup mostly they will be fine for the most part. If you plan on running 6s in the future get the center diff for it. That will save the rear diff from excessive abuse. I went through 6 rear diffs in a year and a half with a loose slipper, but i'm pretty hard on stuff lol.

There is a place that sells hardened diff gears for the summit that are supposed to work in the Erevos. LeadingEdgeMachining.net

I have the rear diff cup and gears ordered for my summit and I know there are differences between the two trucks as I have a revo as well. With high power the plastic diff cups deform and stuff pops like those gears not to mention the ring gear moves a bit allowing them to run I the outside and can cause skipping. LEM says they are working on new ring and pinions too, those will be interchangeable I think.

My summit has a 1700 tekin T8 and a zerun 150a esc and it gets 6s use. My ERevo has the 2200 monster system in it and a stupid center diff. It's for racing not playing IMO. It burns out front tires fast.

Nice to see a nice setup for the diff cups hope they work for the revo! That with some aluminum outer cases should save the diffs.

The center diff is a lot higher maintainence and a PITA to get to when its time for it. Heavy diff oil in the center diff will still get the front wheels to pull off the ground but with the kind of power that you get from 6s it will eat up your front tires for sure.
