Has anyone used or currently using a Hobbywing Xerun-120A-Sd V2.1 in a crawler?
The specs seem to claim it has a crawler mode, not sure what that is though it doesn't go into details, guessing just a drag brake.
I'm thinking of pairing with one of the 3 spare Castle 1410 sensored motors I've got in a 1.9 Wraith geared down.
Any opinions please?

I ran that ESC in my 2.2 Wraith With a brushless sensored motor In crawler mode. I didn't like it. The start up was somewhat jerky and not smooth at all. I tried changing just about every parameter in the ESC. Didn't help. I Yanked it out and put in a hobbywing 1080 brushed ESC with a holmes hobby 550 12t on 3s. Much much better. Start up is buttery smooth with plenty of wheel speed geared 60/9.

I'm more than happy to go another route if needed, I just already have the Castle motors spare and no ESCs since nowhere has stock in the UK of the Mamba X... I don't know any other brushless sensored alternative to be honest.

I pulled the hobby wing ESC out of my 2WD TLR short course truck. My mamba Max pro died And figured I would give it a shot. It was very frustrating to drive with that hobby wing ESC. I've always preferred brushed for crawling

I ran a hobbywing 10bl120 many moons ago. Worked great. Great low speed control, instant forward/reverse, 100% drag brake. Maybe it has different firmware then the ezrun. There are alot of brushless escs that can be used in a crawler. I'm using a skyrc ts150 in my kids truck. Has throttle curve and everything else needed for a crawler, and a bunch of other adjustable parameters that the mamba doesn't. And dead silent. Never understood why the castle units are so freaking loud. Had a lot of escs over the years, Caslte is by far the loudest. But they are the only ones that can adjust the drag brake and switch to forward/brake/reverse from the transmitter. So it's what I run in most of my crawlers. Lotta rambling here. Guess what I'm getting at is try what you have, could work fine for you. Or look at other escs, mainly look at what can be adjusted/ programmed. Just because it doesn't say crawler mode doesn't mean it can't be setup for one.
