I was thinking about use just a 4 cell 3300 battery pack. One to save on weight and second do not really have that much room. I am going to run 1 lathe 55t motor.

Why don't you go to a 6 or 7 cell AA battery pack with 2000 to 2300 mAH rechargables? You will get the volatage you need and reduce the weught over the sub C's. I did with my TXT and get over an hour of run time. EeePee gave me the idea and he gets over 20 minutes run time with his stick.

Note to EeePee: You missed this one in your effort to sell the AA battery idea.

...some of the UT guys are running 4 sub-c cells with 1 motor and 2.2 rubbers. Works good. No idea which esc they are running, but a SR is overkill anyways.

Side note- I am running a 6 cell mini-t pack in my 2.2 with 2 lathe motors, really low gearing, and a regular rooster... pack only gets barely warm. Bout 20 minutes run time.

I suppose I did. I use 7 2500 mAh AAs, they weigh half the weight of a 6 cell Sub C pack. Two lathe motors with 10 and 9 tooth pinions in a Clod with a SR and two HiTec 645s = a solid 20 minutes. I only used them in a mostly full throttle application at Indiana's UROC event, I haven't driven since then, run time might be more like a solid 30 minutes. Obviously a gear reduced single motor application would, and does, double the run time. Long term testing hasn't happen yet. They don't get excessively warm though.

I use Energizers ($20 for 8 ), but doing it again, would seek out the GP cells.

Here's two pics Jeeprocker. First one is the prototype, second one is my "finished" product.
