Anyone With Vista ?

Not if you're smart. Got a couple clients with it and having driver issues (one right out of the box laptop with factory installed Vista)

I never understand why people have to go out and get a new O.S. before they get the bugs worked out.

anyone get the new vista yet ?
corection: does anyone have the new windows vista?
...not yet but what i do know bout it, is that you need special memory and special graphics for vista i would wait aleaast couple months for windows to get all the problems and glitches out then get it... but otherwise ide get it but my computer cant handle it:-( :x

a friend came over to go over ordering a new dell and what he needed to get. well he got everything opposite of what i told him. AMD, vista, etc...
well of course when it came he wanted me to set it up for him. it took hours instead of minutes. the commercial with the mac and pc "accept or deny"...thats all i was saying the whole time. i HATE it so far. its setup different, hard to find what was easy to find...etc

Yeah that accept or deny crap is annoying as hell. You better have a strong system too. Vista needs lots of go power to run worth a damn.

Far I have seen ANY pc that is bought off the shelf will have some form of vista on it. Only on the corporate side of will even offer XP and its XP pro only.

as for updating my machine, not till at least SP1, hell I know guys the have made the jump to vista and on top of that laid out the cash and bought not 1 but 2 of the GF8800gtx cards for an SLI setup and its not working worth a damn in vista. some are sticking it out waiting for new drivers, others said F'it and went back to XP.

I'd wait till atleast SP1.

im sorry but im a techy, computer knowledgable person and couldnt ignore this. IM SORRY IF ANY OF THIS SEEMS RUDE BUT IM STATING THINGS THAT ARE PRETTY OBVIOUS AND IF YOU MISSED THEM YOUR OBLIVIOUS.

anyone who got windows vista the day it came out or sometime soon after is an idiot, there is no way its going to be a bug free operating system that soon after it comes out, even after a few years vista is going to have a lot of problems, if you want to save yourself the trouble stay with xp for a while, and when you are ready have someone knowledgable standing by to assist you.

about computer parts you will have to upgrade unless you have an extremely new motherboard with all the minimum specs which there are, there are motherboards that can easily reach the recomended specs. if your already a hard core high power computer user now worries for you, just make sure you update all your drivers before you switch.

vista is going to be a huge pain to use when your starting out but once you get it set up or know how to by pass windows programs with third party programs it can be a great os.

i myself havent upgrade to windows vista yet and probably wont for the next 5 years, by then it should be safe enough to meet my standards.

if anyone alse does get vista id be happy to offer what assistance i can but i have little knowledge of the system.

you have something against AMD?

some smaller pc companies you may be able to sub for xp but any of the major players your stuck with vista. dell used to sell business class pc's with no OS, may be an option to look into.

Damn straight skippy...never be the first with a new OS...**** XP works just fine and so does 2000 Pro.
