Are the Colbalt Pullers old skool now?

I just found one of the old style 6t cobalt pullers in a box of parts, never used. I was thinking about running in my Wraith I just bought, as I want a bit more speed without losing bottom end torque and these motors seem to offer this.

But a guy in my local crawler club said these are now out dated and not worth using.

Is he telling the truth and talking crap.... your thoughts?

Amazing motors. The 14t Puller on 6s was the best motor ever IMHO until the Tekin Pro4's came out.

I now run Pro4's in my C2 and C3 rigs.
I keep the 14t Pullers on hand as spare motors.

IMHO, they are the only brushed motor worth running.

The guy I spoke to said they were powerful but ate amps etc. Think I'll try it for a laugh.

Any idea on what pinion size to run with this on 2s in a Wraith, stock spur...?????

I run 7t cobalt pullers in both my Wreckluse and in my Fat Dog Tuber and they are just awesome.

Both me and my friend run 7T's and they are awesome. They take some serious abuse too.

I got one in a truck on a trade once..when I first got Into crawlers and scalers..and I sold It not knowing what I had...and I'm still kicking myself for getting rid of It...

Ok, so I'm feeling the love for this motor lol thanks for the input guys.

Do they need to be geared differently to a normal 540 3 slot rotor?
