6.5% ? weak..

Drink 6 or more of the 750ml bottles then.

Personally it gets to a point (with beer especially) that if its too strong it just isn't nice.

I used to drink absinth in the morning straight with licorice sambuca
so i know my alcohol. A good extra stout is a nice beer with enough kick
to keep you merry without blowing your head off.

Ive also brewed beer that would put you to sleep before you finished it.

Alcohol percentage isnt everything, the extra stout is bang on imo.

-Coopers best extra stout

and

-Guiness extra stout

Is what ive always drank. And guiness itself.
The guiness extra stout is a bit mellow in buzz but the coopers is a good one
if your going somewhere. That's what ive found anyway. Virtually no
hangover either, providing you dont drink too many of course.

Not weak at all mate, nice drinks.

Guiness is my favorite sunday beer. the founders imperial stout at 10.5% is a good and heavy one. ill drink 3 before I bring it down a notch to an ipa.

2 years I spent in SK putting all the guiness I could down the hatch just idk.. my tolerances are just a bit high.

both good beers though. the darker and thicker the better for me.

I used to live near a brewery in the northern part of Australia,
hot and humid as hell but worked in the hospital doing shit jobs no-one
else would do,and shit hours.

Worked 3 or 4 nights a week and got over a grand. Spent my time getting
tatoos, fishing and drinking. The pub there did a "porter" . Black and thick.
After a few tattoo's and a few of the porters, it's a wonder i was able make it home at all.
Good days.

Learned to tone it down a bit as the body didnt like it too much.

Just watch drinking too high alcohol content for too long, and the old liver.

I can get that and have had 3 4 packs of it. its damn good. but I think ive already spent 1500 this year on good brews. im slowin it down. might have to go back to 211.

I've scaled way back also, mainly because I haven't been getting any exercise due to an injury, and I didn't want to come back to cycling fat as hell from sitting around drinking beer for two months.

98% or GTFO.

Every time I see this thread name... Yeah, there's mods here. Who do you think starts all of the trouble?

Craft beer is like wine, most people don't like it the first few times they try it making it an acquired taste. I figure having your prostate checked by a fist is an acquired taste too and not one I need to acquire.

I actually think im done with craft beer. I guess I can join the piss boat. I mean coors light boat. :flipoff:

^^No, not really. Craft beer is still beer at the end of the day, and I've always liked beer. Also, your taste buds change every 5-7 years, so what you love today you may not like at all in 5 years.

Oh goody maybe it's time my taste buds come back around to old english 800 reserve lemon lime and fruit punch. $1.25 a 22 oz made for cheap hangovers.

Are you saying you actually drank it once? Given the choice between that and the proctologist visit might be a tough call.

Once? Pffft that was my go to for about 6 months until I discovered black velvet was only $11.10 a 750ml and I could get drunker faster and have less hangover for the same money.

LMAO! Not that I have any room to criticize anyone's beverage of choice, I drank my fair share of bang for the buck drinks.

I used to make Black Velvets with Guiness and champagne.
Used to drink it with the mrs. It's an old school drink, maybe not
the same as the one your talking about.

What does it taste like?

The black velvets i used to make had virtually no hangover
if you didnt smash too many of them or use shit sparkling.

I nearly died from drinking and ended up in a detox clinic.
Roughest shit ive ever been through.Try to take it a lot easier these days.
Spending 200 bucks a week on booze wasnt uncommon. For nearly a decade.

Took a liking for expensive cognac at one point, and Scottish single
malts. That got expensive pretty quick.

Tasted just like you'd expect cheap 8% malt liquor to taste like.

I have no taste for expensive booze. A good friend and I each drank a 750ml bottle of R&R (cheap Canadian whiskey) every night one summer. $10 a night got used booze and a 2 liter of orange soda to chase it with.
