"Auto tranny"?

This looks pretty interesting. with a final drive of 1:1 it may be hard to get a gearing combo. The thing would be lightning fast in a wraith after it's in "top gear".. like 90mph fast.

Someone should pick one up just out of curiosity though.. I'd love to see the experiments

Since the tranny bolt directly to the motor, a 1:1 ratio will not net a increase in speed. You only benefit from the low end with a 1:4 ratio.

You bolt the combo motor/trans to the stock trans of the RC to have the reduced gearing.

Sounds like a centrifugal clutch like off a go cart. Darn! I was hoping it would be more like planetary gears or an actual mini torque converter:( Advertising it as as an "auto tranny" is VERY misleading! Figured it was to good to be true:( Thanks y'all!

If it walks like a centrifugal clutch you might as well use the clutch bell off on Nitro it would be similar

Those are so 2009. When first released they were around ~45 bucks, rc4wd made a few too. Some that increased speed! I never got one because I knew it won't hold up to anything harder than highway crawling!

I have seen theses before and know guys that have tried them. The best review i heard was "It is a grenade with the pin half pulled". And that was in a brushed buggy. The torque we use would probably kill it pretty quick. Also i think you need pretty high rpms to get it to shift correctly.
