Does anyone sell an adapter mount that would relocate the motor and tranny to the front of an scx10 frame enabling one to use a transfer case on the skid?

Axial trannies seem to be a standard as well a the SCX10 frame for scalers.

If not, SOMEONE should. It'd be well recieved.

Thoughts?

I've seen that one but I believe it'd be too wide for an SCX10 chassis compared to the non tapered trail rider chassis they make it for.

I'm sure if someone made a mount to relocate the tranny and motor up near the front shock hoops (or rear for rock racers!)
there'd be eTONS of support.

Honestly I'm really surprised noone has done this!$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Just buy a slab of delrin, drill trans holes in it, and bolt that bay boy to the shock hoop and frame.

I mean really, how hard could it be?

Obviously pretty hard. :lmao::flipoff:

If you can get delrin, use nylon cutting board, or ally, or what ever you can get your hands on.

As Scorpionking said. Drill trans mounting holes, bolt it up front.

i eliminated the bulk of the axial tranny and made my own tranny/motor plate combo, check out my "scale/TT build" thread and see what i did "thumbsup" ....a little bit of inmagination goes a long way and all i used to make mine was a drill press and hand files  .........bob

....

couldn't you just mount an axial tranny plate up front? just drill a few holes in the frame and you're good to go.

The frame is curved in front. Flat delrin would need a lot of shaping to get it to fit right.
Not to mention that many who havew fabbed up something like this have also incorporated a motor plate that puts the motor on the other side of the spur for clearance of the narrow rails.
I'm sure I could fab the trans mount if I had too, but the plate? That's another story since everyone I've seen do it had it machined.

It was more a suggestion for vendors on here.

A simple to make part, when you have more than a dremel, and could be offered at at a reasonable but profitable price.

There are many parts that COULD be fabbed at home with quite a bit of effort. An Axial spur cover could be made out of lexan, several bends and some glue but not everyone has the time. Some would rather just spend 7 bucks on a prefabbed one from Axial like the one coming out lol.

When someone like many of the vendors here have access to CAD and a CNC it's waaaay easier for them to turn them out in batches than by hand as "one offs", as I'm sure there would be MANY people that DON"T have the time or tools to fab one and would love to relocate their trans.

I've seen mounts made for this frame for trannies that aren't even from axial.

Just figured it was odd that no one has mass produced something like that for such an overwhelmingly popular chassis and frame is all.

Kinda along the same line:

I wonder why Axial hasn't made a 1:1 transfer case for their scalers. Seriously, the mold couldn't be all that hard, just 2 gears with outputs on 'em lol. Sell them for 20-30 bucks all day long with already existing internals!
