Axial wraith upgrades

There is a nice thread on ESC/motor/gearing options in the wraith section. I run a castle MMP and a redline 13.5 sensored motor and it goes good. The drive line will need some beefing up to handle that setup for any amount of time.

I need to know what electric set set up is good for mudding crawling n trail and wht battery and charger would in need

If you plan to get wet brushed is better. I just run cheap sealed motors on stuff I run in mud. I know brushless can be made waterproof but I like not caring if the motor burns up.

How much do you want to spend? When you say "good" do you mean top of the line or just something that will get the job done?

What battery ya plan on running?
What are you mostly goin to do with rig?
HH or tekin is what I use brushed!
Mmp or rs pro tekin brushless

What a good brushed motor and a good esc n what do I need to run it

At the top of this section, there are stickies that address all of these issues. There are way too many options depending on how you run, what your budget is, what your skill level is, etc, to cover by just what is "good".

I know it is a long read, but its definitely worth the read to do your research and get what you want, vs. trying something out and finding out it isn't what you were looking for.

Welcome to the club :lmao:

Thats a good budget. we p.m.ed back and forth but I will sum up cost.
Gens ace 3s lipo = $45
"The ticket" 350w combo from progressive rc = $175
Holmes Hobbies brxl wp esc =110
Holmes Hobbies torque master pro = $65
That sums up to about $395 after shipping and discounts for getting the esc and motor in combo (10% on both) you are at around $400. Right on point especially for the best stuff on the market.

Lostonthetrails thankyou for ur time on helping me is that 3s lipo hard case and should I mount it on rear or front and is that pro master motor faster then stock motor

No problem. Yes, it is a hard case. The one I use is a hard case 3s lipo 40c. The torque master pro comes in many winds. The higher the wind, aka turn, the higher the torque but lower the speed. If you are doing a mix of crawling and bashing, I would recommend a 27t or 35t. The 27t is a higher turn than The stock 20t axial motor, but is about equal in speed. It has a lot more torque too. The stock axial motor is not serviceable so one it dies, its trash. You can get the Holmes Hobbies motors fixed. If you want to spend a few bucks more, the crawl master pro which is about $80 bucks. IMO I would go with that in a 13t wind. It is a 5 slot motor rather than 4 slot motor(no need to worry what it does just know more slots = more power) so it is just as fast if not faster than the 20t axial motor but has the torque of the 35t. I think the axial motor is a three slot motor but im I'm not certain.

So u tell me why I should go for on motor I would just like a little more speed n torque

I would say go for the Holmes Hobbies Crawlmaster Pro 13t motor. That will give you optimal speed and torque over the stock motor. You will have to change you gear ratio. I would recommend 84 tooth spur/ 16 tooth pinion or lower to keep the motor from overheating.

For trail running & mud I would go with torquemaster sport 13t the crawlmaster is more of a crawling motor you will burn it up if not careful! I own & use both my fav motor in my wraiths is trailmaster 3100kv & torquemaster sport 13t"thumbsup" I run crawlmasters in sporty rigs(more crawler specific rigs) also run 35t in others...other than that lostonthetrails is correct!

The batteries don't have to be hardcase but don't hurt nothing but pockets...you can get almost(10$ea) 4 2200mah 3s batteries from hobbyking USA warehouse!!! Along with many others at lower cost.

HH esc $110
HH motor $35
CC Bec $24
Solar 772 servo $24(417oz torque @7.4v)
4x 2200mah 3s turnigy batteries $40-50
32p spur & pinion(with HH 13t 56/14) $10
Total around $250 allowing to buy more upgrades!!!!

If I were you I would put metal gears in the tranny (I use hot racing gears, there are others) and upgrade your drive shafts (using MIP of course)"thumbsup". Might as well get a couple extra spur gears!
