I have been doing a little reading and have not come to a conclusion on the matter of gear ratio in the axles. I have not started yet, but I am gearing up for a FOFF build. I will be basing the build on SCX10 Chassis and Axial Trans and Axles.
Now the question, all opinions welcome :

Go with Overdrive gears in the front Axle { 36t/14t } and Underdrive gears in the rear { 43t/13t } ? Or should I just put overdive in both axles for equal speed ?

I run overdrive/underdrive in both of my crawlers and love them. I feel it would be benefical to a degree in a FOFF but, I am uncertain .

good question. I run them in my scalers also so i put them in my foff wreckluse build. still building so cant really give you any advice but seems to me like they would help pull you up the hill

Might have some funny handling characteristics at speed but it could work. Seems like it would be "twitchy" because the front end would be pulling you into turns too quickly. I hope you try it just to hear what it's like. Keep us posted, I've got an AX10 axled build I could try it on.

I think od/ud might be to different in this case. I thought about od/standard but went with od/od.

I may try the od/standard.

I am currently running standard front/ud rear and it seems to work okay, keeps the front from pulling up as much. Slightly taller paddle on the rear minimizes the gearing gap, at least thats my theory "thumbsup"
