axle truss

so I want to find out the pro's and con's of both DMG's truss and R2J's truss
building a buddies truck and looking for insight on to both"thumbsup"

(please no hissy fits of who's better) I just want facts please

p.s. I've searched already but I don't think any one has actually try to compare each of them together

Facts on both.

R2J: steel, more seperation on the links.

DMG: Alloy, very pretty, very low profile, can be made to work with stock 3link (if you really want to). Also available with panhard mounts or swaybay/limit strap mounts.

Both of them are very well made and are made by equally great people.

Just comes down to personal preference.

well one thing I noticed with r2j was that the swivel point for the rod ends connected to the truss was side ways while dmg was up and down, would r2j truss effect it's articulation for the up and down motion?

I use the R2j in one of my rigs...Doesnt effect it at all as they ball ends have enough movement in them for a scaler. If you are running 90* flex it might be an issue (as would the 90* of flex...:lmao

They both work extremely well for their intended purpose."thumbsup"

ya I just notice a lot of people tilting their axles back and that got me wondering about the articulation because of the ball ends being placed like that could limit the up and down movement

got a pic of your truss? want to see how you have it set.

i just got the r2jkustoms for my honcho and it works awesome. never used the dmg truss but it does look badass

I well admit the dmg does look more awesome but that's not what I'm looking for, I'm building some one a scaler and I just don't want to give him a half a** job lol

I also run my links under the truss instead of on top which if different to how most run them. Works for me though.

having experience running the r2jkustoms kit I would say that you won't be disapointed at all in this product. and I am a fellow demonoid user as well;-)

I'm not knocking any of the vendors products but I've been using the plastic Axial truss mounts with great results.

DMG or R2J, either way, you have a good product from good people. I believe they would both say the same about each other. To me it's going to come down to aesthetics and which look you like better. I run the R2J and love it but am thinking about a DMG for another rig. I think for the standard semi stock scale rig the R2J looks best, but for a TTC or KOH style truck the DMG would be a better fit.

In the end the behavior of a 4 link is what your after and both will perform pretty much the same.
