Back-lit keyboard suggestions

Thanks to all of the good feedback and suggestions, I got the K800 backlit keyboard.I just finished sync'ing the keyboard and mouse to the receiver. This is instantly easier on my eyes, even with the room lamp turned on. Mechanical "click" is also nice. I got it at Microcenter, they wanted $120, I found it on line at Staples for $55, they price matched.

Next up is the printer, it took a poop on me yesterday. Good old HP Photosmart 7350. I looked a bit today while getting the keyboard, I walked away completely baffled. The sales kid asked "what do you need a printer to do ?" I says: PRINT. Apparently that wasn't a good enough answer.

CoolerMaster. "thumbsup"

I used to have their "budget" CMStorm Devistator kit... it was great for about 4 months... then LED's stopped working, and some keys themselves just stopped working. For $30 in a pinch it works great, but quality it is not.

Glad you found something you liked, at least in a store, you are able to try things out and see how they actually feel. If you were still in the market, I'd HIGHLY suggest an MechanicalEagle Z-77 keyboard. It's got an aluminum body with Outemu Blue key switches. They are a little loud for some people, but for me they work great because I'm a blind typer an the environment is rather loud sometimes too. The LED's are white too, so it's nice to look at at night. It's currently on sale for $40. "thumbsup" Don't mind the low reviews either. The product comes and goes from Amazon under different sellers.

If all you need is black and white I would suggest a small B&W laser printer, like a Brother L2340DW. Toner is only $47 and gets over 2500 prints per toner and will not dry up from lack of use like inkjets will.

If you need color, just about any inkjet out today will get you covered for printing. Dam near all are "all in ones" scanner/copier/printer/fax. Getting ones that are just printers get a little higher up in quality, but gets you the ability to print larger paper. Like my Canon iP8700 I can print up to 11x17 edge to edge, but the ink is around $60 for the 3 colors, and another $40 for the black and gray (I use the most).

What ever printer you find, look up the ink/toner cost. Don't be that person that buys a new printer because its cheaper than buying the ink. Makes too much e-waste. "thumbsup"

I have a 12 year old inkjet printer. Does color and B&W. Carts cost $37 a piece and last around a year for the pair. My parents had a brand new all in one thing, carts were $70 a piece, it took 5 or 6 of them, and they lasted around a month, maybe two, before they would need replacing. The entire thing lasted around a year before it totally died.

Comparing the old printer I'm still using to my parent's dead printer, it's ludicrous how expensive the new ones are. Not only the price, but ink...

I can't recommend a specific printer, but do your homework. Don't get a POS like my parents did.
