:roll: That's like a Corvette owner saying a Honda owner doesn't have a "real car". They're just different -- serve different purposes -- and each has their own pros and cons.
Yea, from what I have noticed, ALL store or hobby grade crawlers have to be modified to even be remotely competitive.
I personally think I will have more of a thrill taking my "poor boys nylint" and beating some of the (expensive la te da) top of the line ones(hopfully

)
Weather its tlt's, clod's, whatever. People have to buy or make chassis's, electrics, etc.....
My question would be, why not start with a inexpensive nylint??
Axles are pretty good(touchy)but can be realy strong. Chassie seems to be fine, even the body. Change to HG and the tires, fab some links. Very inexpensive way to crawl.
Its all about the driver, not the truck.
And like others, can't realy afford, or justify spending bookoo dollars if it realy doesn't make much differance.
We will see at my first comp? If I get smoked, then I will just have to .................................................practice"thumbsup"
{disclamer} I am a total newb, and have never even seen a "real crawler" except for the net:shock:
