i just got this email from Nylint..... Hi Jim,

I hope all is well. Nylint has no plans of coming out with another generation of Rock Crawlers. We are phasing out our current crawlers and have no plans to go into production on these items again at this time.

Thanks and all the best,

i think that is kind of a good thing....might get more people into real crawlers....and will make the sport more competitive

 That's like a Corvette owner saying a Honda owner doesn't have a "real car". They're just different -- serve different purposes -- and each has their own pros and cons.

Yea, from what I have noticed, ALL store or hobby grade crawlers have to be modified to even be remotely competitive.

I personally think I will have more of a thrill taking my "poor boys nylint" and beating some of the (expensive la te da) top of the line ones(hopfully:))

Weather its tlt's, clod's, whatever. People have to buy or make chassis's, electrics, etc.....

My question would be, why not start with a inexpensive nylint??

Axles are pretty good(touchy)but can be realy strong. Chassie seems to be fine, even the body. Change to HG and the tires, fab some links. Very inexpensive way to crawl.

Its all about the driver, not the truck.

And like others, can't realy afford, or justify spending bookoo dollars if it realy doesn't make much differance.

We will see at my first comp? If I get smoked, then I will just have to .................................................practice"thumbsup"

{disclamer} I am a total newb, and have never even seen a "real crawler" except for the net:shock:

This is very obvious with all the comments you just made.

That's ok, you will quickly learn how wrong you were when you go and compete with your Nylint.

 Good ol supply and demand. Works every time for companies.
I wouldnt sink that much in one when you can get a Tlt for those prices. Rockbuster is abit cheaper than the Max Climber last time I checked.
Way less modding to a tlt than your nylint.
I have a nylint and do like it for what it is. Its smaller but a tlt will walk all over it.

yeah, you have a point. But can you get a RTR crawler out of the box for $25-$40?? Yeah, but its all about the driver and how you set the rig up. PVJRT or w/e placed 4th with a stock chassis in a field full of TLT's and clods. I agree, TLT is way more reliable, BUT..They dont come RTR or ready to crawl out of the box do they? NOPE..

Now I am going to hold you to that statement;-) and if your wrong, then the "old dog/new tricks" comes to mind?

I will have you know that I have only been wrong one time in my life, and then I was just mistaken:lol: thats old, I know.

Besides, I checked out my competition?

Don't you just love the net:lol:

thanks for the props ton06 i did place 4th at the first annual NERCC comp with my stock chassised 4-link nylint and had a blast doing it. I truly believe that with a small amount of work and a LOT of practice nylints can be just as capable as any other 2.2 crawler. For me it's all about being comfortable with the rig that you have and getting as much stick time as you can on it. the nylints are easy as you can throw them in your car and catch a little crawl at lunch or on your way home from work or if your like me and drive for a living you can always find a neat rock somewhere. I probably had about 100 hours of wheel time on my nylint and loved every minute of it..

here she is (I just can't resist posting pics)

pvtjrt01550 I understand you, I am like you, time passes too quickly, when one is on the ground and that our crawler proves to us that it is able to impress us, we are happy. :D :D :D :D ..

and damn I miss her....
