BC-Brian's MOW in Real life, Unlimited MOW with a dash of something crazy

It is time to unleash my insanity on an unexpecting world!

I have been working on the idea of a MOW (motor on wheel) rig off and on for the last two years. It has gone through two major designs but with the incarnation of the Unlimited class it freed up some possibilities. I decided this must be built for Worlds 2015 in Vegas.

If you are coming to worlds you will get the first chance to see this creation. I will post a lot more details when I return from worlds.

A very special thank you to Castle Creations who supplied me with several brand new Mamba Micro X Controllers, you guys rule. And to Krazed Builds for some last minute carbon fiber sexyness.

You F'n Crazy brah!!! :)

It's been a little while since sneak peaks of gears laying in a wheel, now a full built rig.. (Insert, mind blown, emoji) ;)
Always bringing some bad ass Innovations to the table!

Congrats bro!

I met with Robbob Saturday morning to pick up some CF pieces. He got to see it run for the first time and me all giddy. Put the last screw in it at 6:22am, slept for 3 hours and drove to Connecticut. I was all sorts of sleep deprived but I still had a sh!t eating grin from ear to ear watching it go for the first time. "thumbsup"

That's fk'n awesome bud! Now you just made a whole new class! Can't wait to see this thing in action and how much more control you have with being able to control one tire at a time. I guess you'd need a stick radio to see full potential of this beautiful beast!

Awesome!

I was hoping there were going to be others in the 16" class... maybe it will be bigger than the 12" class though....

Courses should be interesting and the thing that sets all apart.

they do have flash for cameras 8)
hard to see anything in all that darkness.

I guess building up the tension is all for the good

good luck with your progeny

Ha, Progeny.

Yea I wanted the high contrast and low detail to leave a little mystery for those who are going to see it in person this weekend. After worlds I will supply lots of photos and details on the build.

Cool stuff man! Bring your red T we'll wanna get a photo with all our sponsors!

If I have learned anything over the years it is this, "If you have a cool truck you want people to look at you have to paint it pink, add color changing glitter for extra effect!"

now you are teasing.

the one you made has 4ws but you will also have a 2ws option available?
and it looks like the motor is part of the knuckle, so to speak, so it turns with the wheel when you
make a turn.

this is a super right? 7.5 - 8.0 inch tires?
looks like there will be enough room to have a few gear combos in there, one on the motor and one
the stub axle. no universals mmmmmmm clever.

good job on the 3d printer.

2WS would be much easier, just create a lockout that mounts to the axle tube and procludes rotation in the knuckle joint.

It is a 16" unlimited rig, not a Super. It has stock Voodoo's on a 2.2/3.0 short course wheel.

The motor and all the gearing are tucked inside the wheel.

thanks
hard to get the details from the available pictures, have to use my minds eye.
when you get back from worlds, don't forget that the 14th is my birthday so I am
expecting a set of the motor/gearbox/knuckles. I already have 4 sidewinders looking for a build

enjoy

It's about time you show this off! After years of wanting to make it happen, it finally lives! Wait until people get a load of what they don't see in the pics...lol!"thumbsup"
