Hey guys, I started building my new SCX10 II everything was going well until the gearbox came along. I cant fit the bearings inside. So i verified I had the right bearings and they are the right ones. Is it possible the holes in the gearbox are were not machined right?

that's the wrong bearing. you need the 6 5x10x4mm bearings for the transfer case, the bearing in your picture is one of the 5x11x4mm transmission bearings (also found in the axles, but i assume you've already got those built up).

Yea I did not get the right bearings. I Took everything apart and tryed it in the gearbox and nothing fits. I'll have to go out and buy some. Thanks

I made that mistake too. I had to take my tranny apart twice. There are some bearings that work in both places although the one shaft will have some slop if you have the bearings in wrong. Odds are you have bearings in the wrong spot without knowing it

What did you ever do about this? I seem to be in the same position with all the bearings in my kit being the same size, so I'm missing the 6 for this.

So I have to assume you have one of these and checkd the inside and outside diam. of the bearings and the of the hole.

Didn’t mean to be facetious above but checking dimensions is always a good idea when Hingis don’t fit. The bearings are probable 3rd party venders to the kit manufacture and they have +- tolerance as does the case and rod manufacturing. Sometimes (luck of the draw) they all line up they worst way; too sloppy or too tight.

One thing i found on my helicopters is if its tight a tight fit, they least amount of tilt or misalignment will jam things upo completely.

the kit dosent come with the proper bearings?

It seems they make mistakes on what they put in. Instead of giving me six 10mm's and four 11mm's, they gave me ten 11mm's, which meant I was 6 short on the ones I needed. OP had a similar issue, and I came across a build video on YouTube where the guy was shorted some of the 10mm's as well.

It seems they are just mistakenly giving people too many 11mm bearings which really stinks.

I’d get on the phone with customer support and get those shipped out to you.

I have a kit inbound. You can bet I will be doing a detailed inventory prior to starting. Thanks for this thread
