Looking to get some beef tubes to improve stiffness of my bomber axles. Looks like there is a variety of material choices: Aluminum, Steel, Stainless Steel, Brass. I think I want to add weight to lower COG and improve crawling. Leaning toward stainless....any thoughts?

brass is actually a little heavier than stainless and steel. The weight difference will change a little between particular alloys, but brass is slightly heavier (5-10%) than steel and stainless steel.

I too have been interested in beef tubes; and I would want the brass as it won't rust like regular steel but is heavier than stainless. It'd really be cool if they'd make them out of tungsten but I don't think that would be thread-able.

I've made my own out of aluminum before, but one thing I always questioned was the strength of the threads over time for bolting on the C's.

Weight isn't my biggest concern but if I made more, I'd make them out of steel or probably stainless.
