Beers

First post of the year.

Been powering through a case of ROGUE Dead guy ale the past few weeks.

One of my new favorites.

Maibock style

Deep and lightly hazy amber in color with a wispy white lace head, sort of has a musty orchard fruit, caramel, hoppy like taste. MMMMMmmmm:mrgreen:

Forgot about the Dead Guy, that's good beer"thumbsup" Think that's what I will have tomorrow night.

Great Lakes was the best by far.

I like my glass dirty.

No pictures here....but I have Sly Fox Royal Weissen and Lancaster Brewing Company Shoe Fly Porter on tap in the kegerator.

This Hop-15 is good stuff. It's pretty strong though. I'll have to follow it up with something a little lighter... like a Pliny the Elder.

I'm so tired of hearing about ancichf!!!!!!!!

Time to wash the bad taste of this kid our of our mouths!!!!

I love Hop-15.....I might have to try it again though.

New Belgium's 1554. Bright taste with a dry, chocolaty finish. Good stuff.

This is probably my favorite New Belgium beers.....and exactly like you describe it.

I can walk to Avery from where I work.....and often have "thumbsup"

toybuilder stopped by this afternoon for some beers and basement crawling. He brought by a few Port Brewing High Tides which is becoming one of my favorites.....dare I say right up there with Pliny??

We followed that up with Boulder Brewing's Never Summer Ale. Not all that great....can't say I'd ever buy it, but it was free from my Girlfriend's Holiday Party.

After that, Clint had a Mojo IPA which I think is pretty good, and I had a Sweaty Betty which I think is not so good. Sorry Boulder Brewing, but this tastes exactly as is sounds.

JanuaryBeers003.jpg

After Clint left, I grabbed an old favorite......Boulder Brewery's "Hazed and Infused". This was my all time favorite before I found Pliny......think of this beer as Pliny's little brother.......or maybe distant cousin.

Ya I think High Tide is really close to Pliny, not as dry and smooth but very similar.

Um get off your computer and get to my house so we can start drinking :flipoff:

Great beer by the way had some last night "thumbsup"

EP I almost picked that one up last night.

Dogfish Burton Baton

Mmmmmmmmmmmmm...

Brewed locally (well, in nearby Delaware). Oak notes, crisp but not overly citrus-y finish. I'm usually a fan of Stone IPA and Ruination. At 10%, ol' Burton will have you speaking in tongues pretty quickly.

Awesome!

I had one of these before I went to see Transformers at 10:30a.m. today (second time to see it in the theater). Good choice.

Fridge is full, (damn, I need to get the Kegerator up and running) going to the butchers tomorrow morning for grilling supplies.

Racer Five IPA by Bear Republic Brewing Co, Healdsburg Cloverdale, CA., 7%.

I heard there is a Racer 10 out now, Stone had it on tap for about two days, couldn't make it. Definately like to try that one.

That is a nice collection, and the fridge gave me goosebumps......"thumbsup"
Personally I like Smirnoff and Miller Highlife as daily drinks. 8)

Oh man I must find Dogfish Burton Baton!!!!!!!!!!!

Huge fan of their 90 minute, I cannot imagine what goodness the Burton contains!

I'm drooling!

Seeing how Ohio won't allow the Pliney, I'll have to find the High Tide, too.

Cool!

Errrm, I've never shipped beer before. If it's possible, I might be able to hook you up.

*Edit*^^^ I knew it was illegal through USPS, but thought UPS might offer an option. Negatory. Good luck.

The Iron Hill Brewery Co. in Newark, DE has a delicious growler of IPA that goes by the name "Elvis' Sideburns". It ranks a little above Ruination in my book, but it's a seasonal and not available past December.

Didn't find the Burton Baton, but 90 minute was on sale for $9 so I had to pounce.

Anyone try the Bell's Hopslam? Flipping $18.00 6 pack!

Anyways, 2:45 starts the weekend! :flipoff:

I guess someone has to start the weekend!

Haven't tried it yet, but my local beer store (LBS) has that one. Looks like it's 9%. That's in my range, I might have to give it a try.

Now that the Pliny secret is out and it's hard to get, this High Tide is becoming my new favorite "easy to find" beer. Thanks, Port Brewing Co! "thumbsup"

Word has it our local brewery (Iron Hill) is renaming their barley wine "The Situation" from Jersey Shore.

I could not possibly be more disappointed.

What in your collective opinions is the dumbest name for a craft beer?

My GF got me this for my B-day

Shes been working on getting me a case of Pliny (24pk) but the deals keep falling through because the demand for it is so high. She settled for 5 for me for now because thats all she can get but she recently found someone willing to sell a case so hopefully I'll be stocked up on Pliny soon. Im also planning on brewing a Pliny clone soon so I think I'll have my fair share of Pliny for a while.
