Rock Stacker
hello!
im new, and i didnt buy a crawler, but right now im in the process of building one. maybe you'll tell me that i should buy a kit or a RTR or something, and i want, but i know that if i do i will get bored of it- just like my kyosho mini-z, and i'll leave this stuff pretty fast. then im building one, to almost fully understand it. so im not planning on buying a car.
for introduction, i think this crawler of mine is going to be 16 scale, but im not sure cause i didnt actually see one, only vids.
i had a toy rc car, so i took it's servo and motor + gear(the small motor in all rc cars, i dont exactly know the watts or your T stuff that i dont understand). i found another unworking rc so i stripped it too of its motor (the same one) and the gear, and i found 4 good and nice wheels. by the way, im planning on 2 motor crawler or MOA as you call it (right?).
i attached every 2 wheels to a motor by a pole that holds those 2 wheels and the gear that's rotating it. now i have the front and back wheels.
i found an old constructor of metal parts, and i made a body with suspension fron an old spring. (you'll see in the pics). i connected the back motor box to the chassis so that's working fine, but no diffs. i dont need them anyway for backyard crawling and fun right?.
now i realised that to buy a battery, charger, speed control, reciever and transmitter, AND the whole front part of the car (i mean the part that allows the wheels to both rotate and turn) i will pay more then to buy a ready car, but i want to cunstruct it myself!
so my solution is: i will make the wheels rotate together, non technologically (that sucks but no choice! haha) i mean where the front motor is, between the 2 front wheels, will be an axle that will rotate the whole front part of the car.
for the transmitter problem: as i told you, i have a kyosho mini-z, and the transmitter is called perfex KT-5. is there any reciever and speed control that will match and will not burn under the pressure of a 7.4v battery im planning to buy and 2 motors? i learned all that electricity stuff at school, im 16 by the way. so here are the photos.
