Finally gonna get a power screwdriver and want to know of some TUFF bits for it.
I have a cheap all purpose set but they round off easy.
Now I'm wanting a few longer ones made for RC work and alot stronger. Dont need ball end hex bits.
1.5mm
2.0mm
2.5mm

Thanks.

I'm using Team Associated (#1655, set w/handle) and Ofna bits in my Ryobi Tek-4, the Ofna bits are about 20 years old and are still in great condition. The Associated bits can be purchased separately if needed. The Ofna came in a set and I don't think they're available separately, I'll see if I can find the Ofna part number.

Never mind on the Ofna bits, the handle/bit set I have (#10311) and the replacement bit set (#93119) have been discontinued.

I wasn't terribly impressed with the Associated drivers, the 1.5 and 2mm from my set are pretty worn out after about a year. I ordered a set of MIPs to replace the worn ones.

Associated does not come with 2.0 bit

Yes it does, I currently own set #1655 and #1674, both include the straight 2.0mm - 5/64" driver bit (individual #1659). The #1674 5 piece set also includes the ball 2.0 - 5/64" driver bit (individual #1669).

Full handle hex driver sets #1541 and #1592 includes the 2.0 - 5/64".

What Associated driver/bit set are you talking about??

I have rounded out many screws with that 5/64 bit. It does not fit tight in any 2mm screw not even when it was new. I have never round any with EDS or Hudy.

If your 2.0mm AE bit was rounding out screws when new, then you most likely got a dud (and Axial screws certainly didn't help). It happens occasionally, I've got a set of Wiha drivers that are too small (the whole set), they want to slip in everything. Axial screws seem to be further out of spec than most others as they seem to slip worse.

Regardless of what your problem may have been, the Associated sets include the appropriate sized 2.0mm bit.

The 5/64" (.0781") and 2.0mm (.0787") bits are nearly the same size (.0006" difference in published specs). The four I have (3 AE and 1 Ofna) actually measured .0790" when new. The heavily used 2.0 bit and 2.0 hex driver measure .0785" - .0788" now. I've been using the bit for 18 months and the hex driver (#1589) for nearly six years, although both are showing some wear, they fit and function fine. Even with Axial's loose tolerance button head screws. However, both the bit and driver are nearing replacement age/usage/wear. I'll be looking into the MIP bits and bit sets to replace the ones that are getting old.

I'm thinking og going with the MIP 3 bit set.
$40 but lifetime warranty and they get 5 stars.

You can get them for about $30 if you don't main buying through e-Bay, a couple of sellers have them in that price range (give or take a few $$ with shipping). Tower wants about $34 per set.

I've been using the Associated factory team 1/4" drive power tool bit set for almost 3 years now, only broke 1 tip as it was a ball end. The smaller ones are just starting to get worn out now, so I'll grind the tip back a bit and keep using them. I've had really good luck with the AE set.

I like the losi race wrenches, you can take Handel off and use electric drill .

That's what 1/4" drive hex bits are, they're for use in cordless power tools (drills, impact drivers, screwdrivers/screw-guns). The Associated #1655, Losi #99120 and Dynamite #2950 sets look like they could possibly be from the same manufacture. Losi replacement bits even appear to be Dynamite part numbers (DYNxxxx).

i ordered the mip 3 piece metri then had to order the .9 1.3 and 3.0 seperate ordered 4 piece standard as well as wiha 8 pc standard and 8 pc metric sets off ebay all combined was $142 i believe total with shipping. i was going to buy hudy but $$$ and some bad revues decided to go this route???? any thoughts??

The Wiha set I have just didn't fit anything well at all, it was the same with a couple of their precision nutdrivers. Not the typical quality and precision I have come to expect from Wiha.

As for the MIP drivers, the 1.3mm is actually rounded up from 1.27mm and is the same as a standard .050", .9mm is rounded up from .89mm and is also a standard .035". Just as 2.0mm and 5/64" are the same driver/bit. You don't see the .028", .035" or .89mm much, but they're nice to have if you occasionally work on tiny precision devices (camera, cell phone, etc.).

everything arrived and seems pretty nice time will tell.i just figured if i was going to spend money on more tools i might as well try to go complete and descent quality. now time to convert 1 workbench to rc bench. although i'm sure i wont be breaking or upgrading much :shock:;-)
