Hey guys, just ordered my first Axial Jeep :D
I'm new to the RC Community and I was wondering what the best battery/charger combination would be for the SCX10 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited C/R Edition. I am planning on keeping it stock for now and I would like to maximize the run time of it.

Also will this battery/charger configuration work well with the Axial and what would my average runtime look like?

Venom Sport Power 40C 2S 5000mAh 7.4 LiPO Battery ROAR Approved with UNI Plug
Combo: Tenergy TB6B Multifunctional Balance Charger and Power Supply+ PC Battery Monitor Software Kit

Thanks for the help and I really appreciate it

Not sure if you have looked into running 3s, it can be easily achieved by wiring in a CC BEC to the stock ESC. It may be that you will have to change gearing up a bit when volting up, (so just gear down a bit).. I am running 60C 3S 3300mah 11.1v Gforce & Turnigy batteries.. Here is a site with some decent deals on batteries and chargers, welcome to the hobby.

thanks for the response, I may look into 3s down the road but since I'm still new to the hobby I will probably keep everything stock for now... also, will my current battery/charger combination work well? Should I consider anything specifically when researching chargers?

I spent the first couple years running 2s when I first got into crawling and now I run Gens Ace 3300 3s. I don't plan on ever running 2s again. I'd defiantly look into 3s

do you think my battery/charger configuration will work for a beginner level Axial Jeep? Thanks for the help,

Yes, it will work, i my self have just ordered a C/R edt scx10, dont know how long the runtime will be, but awhile is my assumption :D

and yes i have ordered 2s 5200Mah but down the road ill surely try out a 3s but dont see the need on the stock 27T motor :p

You should be able to get up too 2 and a half hours as I get about 3 hours with 5800 mah batteries

I have a Duratrax Onyx 2s 5000mah and it lasts for about 2.5 hours like you said. I even have a winch, high torque (about 300 in/oz.) servo, and 20 leds on my dingo. I was using the Axial 27 turn motor, so the stock C/R motor.

Side note:3s is stupid fun, but I unfortunately ruined mine when I forgot to switch from 2s to 3s LVC.

Should be able to get more than that. I get 2-1/2 hrs out of 2200mah 3s packs. (brushless 18.5t, winch, bec)

I was thinking the same thing, I run my 3s 3300mah 30/60C's rather hard and get roughly over 2 hours. Stock ESC / Traxxas 21T / BEC / that's includes a light kit, motor fan, and winch..

* In my opinion the scx10's seem to handle best with a 2000-4000mah sized battery. Just enough weight for the front end, but not overkill to make it cartwheel or roll. *

I run a 5000mah 2s on a stock scx10 deadbolt and adding the run times together probably get easily 3hours of poodling around at walking pace.
