Best bolt on aftermarket shocks?

Hey all. I have been researching upgrading my shocks on my Bully 2. Some have suggested Traxxas Big Bores with the shock cap mod, but after talking to a few fellow compers they seem to think that they are too stiff on the Bully 2. I would also prefer something that requires no modification and is a direct bolt on shock upgrade. Thanks in advance for any recommendations

Thanks for the replys. But are those bolt on? Or do they need modification? Like the Dravtechs for example, are you talking about the 2.2m comp shocks? The ones that are 92.5mm? I can just buy 2 sets of those and they will bolt right onto the Bully 2?

You will probably need to reuse the stock bent rod end up front (helps clear the servo) but other then that, yes. Add some oil and your on your way.

I like the big bores. If you want them to be "loose" run light oil and mini-t springs. I run with an Axial plastic pivot ball in upper end. Just drill out large enough for ball with a hand drill. Or you could do cap mod, very easy to do. I run this set-up on a 4.5 lb rig. I have a 5th dimension chassis on an XR10. I was looking for info on th bully for a friend of mine, he just bought on and wants to comp with it. Wondering what some of the rigs on here are using

Dravtech are based off big bores and have cap mod done already. If I was going to buy shocks again I would try those personally. Cheaper less time consuming and comes in a bunch of colors.
And they come with dlux spring retainers.

Dlux now sells dravtech shock caps that are ready for rod ends.

I'd like to try dravtech shocks as well, lathed bodys, Ti shafts and delrin pistons. Plus he has lighter springs then pinks. I would like if they were a hair shorter though, but not a total deal breaker.

Anyone know how many holes dravtech pistons are?

They have 2 holes... But Dravtech is busy, after listening to testers and customers, with more sorts of pistons..

Yes DravTech will have some new pistons soon with bigger slots, He will also build them for you for a cost of course. Just add oil and your good to go

Just take a number 51 drill .068 and add a third hole, plus add RC Bro's ax-10 Icon Light springs & 20 wt oil makes a notable increase in compression and rebound made the handling of my DravTech shocks just about perfect :mrgreen::mrgreen::mrgreen:

I ordered up the Dravtech comps. Having them assembled also. Hopefully its no too long of a wait, looking forward to them

Dravtech shocks are about to take over the world.

All the benefits of the best performing shock in the world for the cost of a stock Big bore.

Shocks came and are all mounted up. I have yet to give them a trial run, but first impression is that they are quality. I am a bit sorry that I went with the super soft spring rates, as it seems a bit too soft. But that could just be because I am used to the bouncy stock shocks. When you push down on a properly set up Bully should it stay squatted down?

Same here. I think set correctly at rest it should both droop down and be sprung up.

I went red and orange due to the weights I added to the knuckles

mine stays down when I push it down. its no problem. I also opted for the super softs and they feel good to me.
