ok what is the best glue that is strong enough to hold a body together made from styrene? that you all have used? I am building a body of my dads 1:1 offroad vehicle

I use Tenax 7R. Its a liquid and can by applied using an old model paintbrush, suringe, and most well stocked hobby shops carry it. They also have other tools for applying it. Its around 5 bucks a bottle.

I tried 3 hobby shops and a couple craft stores around here to find the Tenax...with no luck. I ended up using Zap-A-Gap CA+, and it seems to be very stout. The better choice would be the Tenax since it chemically "melts" and welds the joints...but the Zap-A-Gap works pretty well.

the best stuff I've ever found while building model railroad stuff was MEK. I would buy a small container of it from Home Depot, then transfer a very small amount into a small glass container, then use a small drill bit to dip into the MEK and let it wick into the seam being bonded. It will absolutely fuse the 2 pieces together.

Testers in the orange tube. If its the same formula as I remember it makes a stronger bond then the styrene strength is. Melts the two pieces together.

Methyl Ethyl Keytone is some serious stuff. If you use this, take care of your ventilation and don't use near anything hot

Methylene chloride Is great also and is NOT FLAMABLE. Mek is..mek also has a more potent smell... If you cant find it a hardwarestore you could find it at local chem distibuter.. We use m/c for our acrylic /styrene/abs fabwork at work.

ok thanks guys I will look for some of those this week so I can start glueing my body together
