Best scale truck ?

I have a axial rubicon and like the scale look to it. Also the tamiya's are a great scale in my book.

i'd also second the TF2 as a very realistic and scale setup. for crawling performance as a priority over the scale-ness, i'd favor SCX10 platform

I know this is a cruddy answer but all of the above are awsome trucks.....LOL.....getting a gelande 2 as my next one

I really like my scx-10 (Honcho)
IMO it offers realism as well as great capabilities, and future prospects...
primarily due to more aft.mkt. support then most any other scale crawler.

I think the leaf sprung TF2 and it's styrene Toyota body are more scale.
But all of that can be done to the scx-10... plus more.

I prefer the linked suspension system over leaf sprung.

It really just depends on what you want from it !?

TF2 or scx-10 would be toss up...
as either could be modified

stock out 'da box...
form over function = TF2
function over form = SCX-10

anything you build from scratch is the best IMO.

i started with all my builds from scratch. and to this day have not bought a kit scaler.

i do love the d90 bodies though. i have one and they are great. i would just build your own scale chassis for it. put in a tansfer case. then go from there

my answer is....... My rig! Ok maybe I'm biased lol

Built not bought....

The TF2 Is BY FAR the most scale truck out now. Is it the best? Yes and no. Yes it is VERY realistic while performing pretty darn well, it has it's weaknesses like the axles, and IMO the stock leaf springs are a joke. But for what it is it's pretty stout. I am currently proving that in my tf2 axled, scx-trans'd Scout with a 3500kv 4 pole in it. So far no failures.

Truth is if the SCX-10 wasn't as bulletproof as it is we probably wouldn't be mentioning it. Because it isn't that scale. The axles are unrealistic, there's no Transfercase, Servo's on the axle, it's mid engined, I can get more detailed by mentioning how the Rubicon's suspension isn't realistic by using those big honkin' coilovers and that center skid to mount the links to but why bother? Sure it has a C-Channel frame that we are all oh so greatful to have to build a rig off of, a decent(yes I say decent, I'll explain why later) Licensed scale replica of a JK, and some really cool licensed bumpers and a cage. Here's why I say decent. 1. the hood's too short, this is what bothers me most of all. 2. It's not very detailed: virtually no interior, and no standard 3d features on the exterior. Sure you can add them but my point is you don't have to on the much more detailed hardbody Toyota. Keep in mind I LOVE the SCX-10 platform to drive, beat the everloving piss out of, and to build off of(I currently have 4). It's just when you stand back and look at it next to a tf2 that you realize when it comes to true scale it doesn't hold a candle to it.

Just my long over-explained reasoning of my worthless 2 cents.

Ben
