Do you know if the revo shafts will clear the stock spur gear?

No, Revo shafts (5451x) will not fit on the AX10 tranny with the 87t spur. You will have to use a spur that is about 1/4" smaller in diameter to get it to fit.

But you could buy the adapters that RC4WD makes and then they will fit.

i would like to know this also. the VXL does have metal gears.also have people used the AX10 tanny in a super?

Well, I'm eventually going to find out. I got the metal gears for $15 shipped from tower. You can check out my build up in the x-factor/mad-twin force section. I adapted the front pede output to clear an 87T spur by welding a revo stub shaft into a TLT drive cup. Basically make do with leftover pieces.
