Hey guys, As the thread name suggests this is a first for me building a crawler and doing a build thread as well. I use to bag out electric drivers and guys with crawlers for the lack of noise and speed as i raced 1/8 nitro Truggy with a Mugen MBX6-T and the louder the better was always the way. Well that all changed when a mate bought a Redcat racing RS10 off ebay and brought it around. We set out a coarse in the garden and after umming and arghing while driving this thing for a week or 2 and arguing with myself i finally admitted to all that i was hooked and had to get one for myself. (And then the missus said she wanted one of her own too and i knew straight up then this would be costly). I started researching and reading up on different crawlers and ended up with a Berg in the Newage CRL-101 kit.

I liked the look of the G-Made R1 chassis so that was soon transplanted to the axles

It didnt last long...

After blowing apart all the links i had and more of the dreaded research another rebuild was in order. And this is the start of the current yellow brick road...!

Nice progression...it looks like you definitely put your time in researching "thumbsup"...you've got a lot of great parts there making a great looking rig!

Yeah cheers. I have been in R/C long enough to know that 'you get what you pay for' so the hours spent researching have kind of paid off. I have still ended up with a pile of shit that is not needed or worthy for that matter though...!

I like what you finally ended up with now, looks more than comp ready"thumbsup" & the cool factor as well8)
nice job

Thanks mate, now its all about learning the different ways the car reacts with steering input and the use of the digs. I will admit that driving a fast lap around an off road track with a nitro truck is alot easier than getting your head around the physics of crawling. Its definately the mind games in crawling between the terrain, the driver and machine that makes it so addictive...!
