So I've got a smashed up blade CX2 heli in my garage that I learned to fly on and I was wondering if I could use the 4 in 1 control unit (eflh1024) just as a digital receiver. The problem is that it has a receiver, gyro, speed control, and mixer all in one. I would like to use this because it's just sitting there and will save me the purchase of an AR6100 receiver which I am also considering. Ill keep trying to find out what I can but if anyone knows anything please let me know. The whole purpose of this is to run independent 4ws on my clod so I can crab and whatnot.

The throttle and rudder are mixed in the receiver, with input also from the onboard gyro, and then through the onboard ESC's to the two motors, so you can't plug servos into those outputs. But it's a six channel reciever, right? So you may be able to use the other channels to work your crawler ESC and two steering servos. But the transmitter controls may need to be adapted, or you may end up using one stick for both throttle and one steering servo and a switch for the other steering servo.

Basically, I don't think it's suitable, but why not try? You have nothing to lose!

Cheers.

Yes it is a 6 channel. After some reading last night, I think I will just go with the ar6100 after all just because its easier and would allow me to run a dig setup later on in the future if I wanted. Wuts the point of a 6 channel receiver if you can't use all the channels? I'll just cough up the cash.

Wish one of these could be used, I've got one sitting here also. I can see the issue with the stick not returning to center.

You have to do a spring return mod to center the stick. It can and has been done. search google, I think, and you should find it. I know a couple of guys that used that setup for several months with pretty good results..."thumbsup"

Thanks for the info, I'll have to check that out.
