BladeMech's First (not Truggy) flat bed...thingy

I had a bunch of left over parts from projects that I hadn't finished, a honcho cab that I was about to throw away and a freash roll of Safty-Silv 56 that I just had to get hot. So, here's what happened and there is more to come once I come up with a paint scheme and how the front bumper skids or possibly an exo-cage should look like. Ideas, criticism, and crood humor is always appreciated.

Specs:
SCX frame
Honcho Cab
RC4WD T-rex Alxes
G-made Transition shock
Holmes Hobbies 35t
Mamba Max Pro
Spektrum DX3S
3/16" automotive brake line (cage and links)
RC4WD 1.9 black steelies
RC4WD 1.9 Mickey Thompson TTC Baja Claws

Bare SCX frame

Baja Claws are great tires and HUGE (thats what she said)

Trying to find correct axle placement, I want good departure and approch angles

Tires will almost tuck into to fenders

These shocks are super smooth, but they leak alot. I will eventually modify them to use an o-ring around the cap.

Rear 4-link setup

Re-test fit body

Front 4-link with bent links (I'm not sure why I bent the fronts and not the rears)

Tried my hand at a rear cage, there will be more bracing to come soon

And of course, The Mandatory Flex Shot

The rear is stiff, but the shocks are brand new. I just took it back apart to move the steering to the frame. I'll probably work on the rear to free it up some. I think my upper links are binding. Thanks for the comments and advise. More pics and info coming on Monday when I get back to the office.

Looks like you're off to an awesome start... Looking at everyone elses rigs on here really inspires me to work more on my own rig... I really like your rear four link setup... And the bent links up front make sense too... Time to head back to the drawing board for me. Lol

Nice rig though!!

truggys have cut frame rails you sir have nice tube flatbed truck.

Truggy = no rear stock frame rails, only tube.

flatbed with tube, note that the tube work is on the existing stock frame rails

I got her painted and running........It is too high and tipsy. I think I am going to do a droop setup in the shocks to lower it and then get some weight in the tires (they are empty now). Here she is with paint on the cab:

The rear is flexing more smoothly now with really light shock oil

I don't want to knock RC4WD, but the the T-Rex axles are not nearly strong enough. In roughly 15 minutes of driving I broke both knuckles and the front axle housing. If I get this truck to sit and drive the way I want I will probably end up with an aluminum front axle to take the abuse.

Other random shots:

Removing servo from axle to mount on frame

I have got to get going on sliders before there is no body left to protect:
