What does everyone like to use for a body on a scale truck? I want something to look very realistic. The lexan bodies are ok but I think it could be more realistic. I was thinking I could use a hard plastic body from a model kit, can/has this been done?

What scale are you wanting to build up? 2.2 Tire size 1/10? if so many have built up this type of truck. I would suggest checking out the Scale section under 1.9 and 2.2.

Most builders will use one of these Hardbodies:
Tamiya - Bruiser
Tamiya - Mountaineer
Tamiya - Juggernaut F350
Tamiya - HiLift New F350 body
Tamiya - Blackfoot Older Ford body style
Tamiya - Clodbuster or SuperClod

That should just about cover most that I am aware of in Hardbody.

Then you can also use a 1/10 New Bright Body from Radioshack or Walmart.

Yes, 2.2.. I am using a K2-3S chassis. I love the tamiya body but they seem to go for big $$$. I will have to check out the Bright Body ones.

Check on Ebay and search 1/10 scale here is my Toyota FJ

Very cool.. I would really like to do mine with a 84-89 toyota body. I want to turn it into a 1st gen 4runner, my 1st gen I used to have to be spacific. My first vehical was a MINT 1984 Toyota 4Runner with 80,000 miles on it. I wish I had never sold it and so far this seems to be the only way I am going to get it back.
