Body reinforcement

Ok, I saw some good hints about the place on how to reinforce rally bodies to make them last longer, but, well I can;t find them again.

Anybody got nay hints and tips. I've seen shoo goo and mesh, and some alloy tape both used. just couldn;t find any details.

They're the best two, and probably about the only two I've seen. I use the shoo goo and plasterboard wall mesh tape on mine. What other details do you need?

I have used both the alloy tape is good for protecting against tire rub. the Drywall tape & goop (shoe goo) work great. after a season of racing its gets pretty beat up. On the lower front edge the body is gone and the drywall tape and goop are still there. the down side to it is a heavy heavy body. I am trying a new technique for my latest project. just Plasti Dip spray on the lower parts of the body. I haven't tested it yet, but I do love me some Plasti Dip"thumbsup"so far it feels much lighter.

I am using the tape & goop on the front and Plasti Dip on the back & sides. One side of this body is really thin, so I am curious how it will work

As to where I am, Waaaayyy under down under! Down in tassie. My regular haunt is Launceston R/C Racers | R/C car racing in the north of Tasmania: launcestonrc.com and in all honesty, I am looking at doing the drywall tape to my new SCT body to make it last a bit longer! and on the low traction track, some weight won't actually go astray.

Just have to work out where to get the alloy tape from now! I had a quick look at bunnings the other day when I got a roll of plasterboard (drywall) tape, but I was probably in the wrong isle.

Pics are a good reference, will be interesting to see how the plastidip stands up to it.

I was just wondering what else I could do to make my bodies last, but these 2 techniques seem to be the best ones to go with.

Bunnings probably has it where the aluminium flashing and waterproofing is. I think my mate might actually use this stuff - Aluminium and mesh reinforced "thumbsup"
