im building xr10 and not sure which one to go with brushed or brushless motors and esc to go with and which motor company to go with ether

My choice hand down is the rooster ESC with the BREC and the cc5700kv. No problem. Torque and speed. Plus 2s lipo."thumbsup""thumbsup" PlusI have a traxxas VL5 ESC with a HH brushed. Yeah baby!"thumbsup""thumbsup"

No....I drove a xr10 saturday that had holmes handwound 45t motors
and fxr's

Look,it really doesnt matter what quality esc you use,and any quality handwound wil work....but deffinatly go with a quality BRUSHED motor setup.
You will be glad you did"thumbsup"

He said this was for an XR10. A 5700KV brushless....really?

Stick with a nice set of handwound 45t brushed motors and FXR's, Mamba Micro Pro's, or BRXL's.

ok so brused is the way to go that being said iv been looking at tekin motors r they good for crawling or not

yep, nothing wrong with tekin,or integy for getting started.....but a handwound is worth the money IMO in the end. The smoothness of the delivery of the power to the wheels is uncomparable.

I could be wrong, but it sounds like you are thinking of the AX-10, not the XR-10... Plus, I would never recommend a Traxxas XL-5 for a crawler, scaler/FoFF, maybe; it has no drag break and a double-clutch reverse.

Never seen a XR with brushless motors...

Motor and ESC choice all depends on your budget, buy what you can afford, the better the motor the smoother the power gets to the wheels.
