brushless motor problems... sensor board maybe... need help

So I am running a tekin rs esc and a hh 3100kv trailmaster brushless sensored motor. When I barely give it throttle the motor shaft vibrates until enough throttle is supplied to get the rotor spinning. I have had this problem with a my tekin rs and the mmp I ran before that. I have tried 3 different sensor wires to no avail. I am beginning to wonder if maybe the sensor board might be bad. It was that way from the moment I got the motor new and I've only had the motor about a month and ran it for maybe a couple hours. I am thinking about trying to get another sensored motor to test and see if I'm still having the problem. Also since I switched to the rs pro if the motor gets into a bind it will make a whine sound and the esc sounds like it beeps. When this happens the motor doesn't move at all and I usually have to back off the throttle or give it a lot of throttle. Do before I go about buying or borrowing a motor I wanted to see if anyone had any input on this issue. Any help is appreciated

First thing I would do is contact Holmes Hobbies about the problem as I'm sure he will help since your motor is only a month old. If you can I would try to borrow another motor from someone if you can just to verify that the motor is your problem. The whining sound seems like it could be that your slipper is to loose or that you have a stripped gear maybe or it could be that you just have a bad motor.

I am definitely thinking there is an issue with the sensor board. There have been several people posting similar questions in the past couple months. I would contact holmes, shouldn't be an issue since this was happening since new.

Thanks for the input. Also I don't run a slipper. I have also had my entire truck apart since this issue to rebuild everything and no stripped gears. I know hh will warranty it if there's a issue, but I don't want to send it in to be checked out until I have eliminated all the variables. I don't want to waste his time sending in a motor when it was something that had nothing to do with the motor. He is busy enough without idiots complaining that the brand new stuff they got it bad because they don't know how to wire it right and what not.

Isn't that normal behaviour?
Should depend on at what speed (and voltage) it starts spinning, but most/all motors do vibrate (due to the PWM power supplied) until the start-up threshold is reached. Right?

Maybe ever so slightly, but it's very easy to tell the difference if you land from a big jump or something and the sensor cable came loose, like night and day difference.

What are you running for gearing? I have a Novak 13.5 in mine and it's smooth as glass, paired to a mmp.

I have tried 60/9, 60/10,56/9,56/10, and 56/11 with no difference. I stopped by a lhs when I guy I trust for input was working and without the motor being hooked up to the trans it does it. So according to him and the other guys there, chances are the sensor board has a problem. It's not a big deal or anything. The motor is under warranty for like another 10+ months and I will just let Holmes know I'm having some issues and go from there. Like I said before I wanted to make sure it wasn't something on my end before contacting him for warranty repair. He has enough on his plate. I pretty much assumed that was the problem from day one. Winnerone23 on here runs the same exact esc/motor combo on 3s like me, and his is not like mine. Check his thread out to see a video of the way it's supposed to run. It's wanting a winner xj build
