Building a little course for 1/18 and 1/6's

last week here it was raining hard here so lotsa mud. Anyways I just got a new septic tank put in my back yard. So my whole yard is so fudged up and with the rain and that it was a swamp. What I did is take my skidsteer, and just drove from the front of my yard along the house and into the backyard.

so basically now Its these long deep, muddy, rocky ruts that extend at least 200 foot up a hill.. on the side I already had landscaping stone so that was cool. It takes me a good 40 minutes to get up the whole thing.. Its really fun for my 1:18. will post some pics soon maybe..

I plan on getting 2 ton of modified an 1 ton of large crushed stone this weekend and using a small excavator to make a course out back.

Is ther moutians near by or somewhat close? If so, drive up to them, go off a trail and throw a bunch of rocks in the trunk or bed of the vehicle. You do that untill you get suited with your course. DONT forget the mudhole!

We go up the road a piece friend's family owns about 60 acres of woods with bolders, trails and some small "caves" 3-4 miles of trails, even some areas where rock climber practice "boldering" Makes for a great afternoon an RC Trail Ride......... Wild to Mild......... almost like we do with the 1:1 jeeps

Holy crap i Just r3alized that there is this nature area down the road from my house. It's calle The Seven Tubs. there is this trail that goes uphill for 1 or 2 miles. It would be perfect for the 1:18 lots of rocks. good solid compact soil. some places have a nice sandy loam. there are lots of skinny small stumps large cliff-like rocks to climb up... I cant wait to go there on a warm day.. It's liek 10 degrees in the poconos

Why wait till it warms up? We went out today......... Temp in the low 20's wear gloves it was a nice day ;-) ;-) ;-) We headed out just as the snow started flying......... about 2pm Had to take son home anyhow..........

Great fun.......... challange the 1:18 stayed on our "easy" trail for the 1:6 We have 'stair' steps......... a steep trail with small ledges rocks and tree roots..... biggest problem we have is the leaves on the trails the wind is finally starting to help us out a little, but you know how that is in the woods.........

well its closed for the winter since its a protected nature area. and the walk from the locked gate is abut 1/2 mile downhill through unplowed snow. which means walk back is a cold, hungry, wet uphill battle for warmth

my trail too the one I described also has small stair like rock ledges going up the whole path. with small tree stumps eveywhere.

We just use one of our flower beds - it already had some nice sized rocks in it. Bunch of pics at http://www.flickr.com/photos/bullockfam/sets/72157594512958340/

The middle school by our house has some that are too big for the 1:18, so I will be taking my 1:6 up there when the snow melts...

Great pics.......... I love taking mine out in the "real" world, we do scale trail rides, usually means we're walking a couple miles and out the whole afternoon

Now............ shouldn't this guy have his hind leg lifted up toward the hydrant???
