HELL.....
i am building a crawler tlt. i was wondering what people are using for new links? i am looking to extend it a little as well.
also how are the stock shocks? other than looking goofy do they work well? what are people replacing those with?
has anyone made a tube chassis yet? i have seen some custom and production chassis, but they are stock replacements. has there been a custom tuber yet? or at least something different than stock type?

will a mod please move this to newbie general
okay anyway pwople use wither 4-40 or 8-32 then just custom make thier own links. stock shocks just get rid of them get some t-maxx shocks or some 4" shocks. theres been lots of tubers just a matter of what you want it to look like

I wouldn't use 4-40 if I were you. Way to flexible. I use 4mm and 6-32 stainless threaded rod for links. They are fine bare when on a TLT. Go with some 4" Maxx shocks.

I have a tuber, and there has been a few others around here. Search for pics.

well threaded rod is a little too easy and obvious. have to make a stop to the archery shop to see if there is a smaller diameter arrow shaft i can use

If you check my thread, you'll see how the links are mounted if you want to keep the bottom clear for a good approach angle. I'm using the 116mm and the 106mm Maxx turnbuckles for links...the shorter is on the bottom.

He said move it to the newbie forum so someone there could tell you to search... There is TONS of info in the first page or two here. Hell, I wrote nearly a page worth of information for newbies...

for my links i used 4-40 but i cut stainless tubing to the right length and it slips inbetteen the ball joints. Ive never had a problem with it being to flimsy or anything like that.

What tranny? I've got the 'Pede tranny and I'm using the stock Traxxas sliders.

make what accept a pede tranny? a stock tlt can accept a pede tranny if you redrill some holes.
